‘You’ve Disappointed Those Who Saw You As Messiah’, Gani Adams Writes Tinubu [] - asknig.com

Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Abiodun Adams , has voiced out his frustration with President Bola Tinubu, saying the President has disappointed many Nigerians who brought him to power.
He criticized the President’s handling of the petroleum sector especially the recent hike in price of premium motor spirit (PMS) otherwise known as petrol, saying the situation is worsening the hardship in the land.
He asked the president to reverse what he called, “the ugly trend,” saying the time is going.
In an open letter to Tinubu, Adams said, “When you came with the ‘Emilokan’ coinage in the build up to the 2023 elections, many Nigerians were persuaded that as a democrat exposed to modern way of governance, you will perform better than Muhammadu Buhari, a soldier who deepened the poverty levels of Nigerians and increased insecurity from 2015 to 2023.
“Today, events have proved that they were wrong. Mr. President, to say the truth without minding whose ox is gored, you have really disappointed many Nigerians who thought you were the messiah they were waiting for.”
He said the increase in price of fuel which was less than N200 when the President took over, now selling over N1000 has shown that the administration is insensitive to the plight of Nigerians.
“Obviously, your administration is becoming indifferent, insensitive and unresponsive to the plights of millions of Nigerians who can no longer meet their daily needs. This is a brutal assault on the sensibility of Nigerians.
“I think you and your party should be sensitive to the plights of Nigerians. Mr. President, don’t you think the wicked and draconian increase in fuel price, especially, at this time that Nigerians have been pushed to the wall, is a huge recipe for crisis? Nigerians can no longer bear this economic hardship any longer.
“I am writing this letter to you because of the pressure I am going through from millions of Nigerians, who erroneously, believe that I don’t want to tell you the truth because the two of us are eminent Yoruba citizens.
The truth is that the perverted, opaque, unintelligible, wicked and corrupt handling of the petroleum sector and continuous increase of fuel price under your administration (with the NNPC threatening us the price will still go up) without due regard to the laws of the land and wellbeing of Nigerians is akin to telling Nigerians to go to hell.
“Mr. President, if a few of your advisers are telling you that all is well, I can confidently inform you that they are your enemies.”
He said the economic situation has worsened with the increase in fuel price and the rise in foreign exchange.
“Today, it (fuel) is more than N1000. As the Minister of Petroleum, I ask you, what type of reforms is this?In May 2023, Naira to a Dollar was less than N740. Today, it is more than N1,600.
“Now, your two right-hand men when you were Governor of Lagos State between 1999 and 2007, Wale Edun (Finance Minister) and Yemi Cardoso (CBN Governor) are in charge of the economy.
“What exactly are the fiscal, economic and financial briefings they give you daily to convince you that they know what they are doing in those two offices? When Buhari left on May 29, 2023, many Nigerians heaved a sigh of relief that insecurity would soon become history.
“Pitiably today, from the North to the South, East to the West, the rate at which Nigerians are being abducted and some killed, even after ransom was paid, it was as if these blood-thirsty maniacs have just been unleashed on Nigerians from the hottest part of hell.”
The Yoruba generallisimo likened the President’s administration to the Adolf Hi**er’s dictatorial era in N**i Germany, saying, “In just 16 months into your administration, your campaign promises have suddenly become failed promises?
“Your Excellency, do you remember an Austrian-German who became the Commander-in-Chief in Germany in 1933? Adolf Hi**er was an Austrian-born German politician who was the dictator of N**i Germany from 1933 until his su***de in 1945?
“Hi**er, an elected democrat, quickly transformed a democratic republic into a constitutional dictatorship.
“The Fuhrer vowed to destroy democracy through the democratic process. And he did with the destruction of Germany in 1945.
“Before the destruction, the N**i leader disabled, then dismantled the Weimar Republic. The Fuhrer crushed political opposition, destroyed the economy and ultimately undermined Germany’s democratic structures.
“When Hi**er became history on April 30, 1945, Germany was in total ruins. But due to the determination of Germans, today, that country has the biggest economy in Europe.
“I hope I am wrong but I see a linkage between what happened during the ascendancy of Hi**er into power and what is happening in Nigeria today.”

Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems has finally addressed the rumors of her being pregnant for American rapper, Future.
Recall that late last year, Tems was accused being pregnant for Future after their collaboration in her “Wait For U” to which she seemingly denied online.
“In conclusion, you people are all mad!!!” she wrote at the time with a photo of herself.
In recent time, the singer has addressed it in a sit down on ‘The Breakfast Club,’ she revealed that she don’t see why she is not being accused of being pregnant for Drake or Wizkid but instead Future.
“People just take the most controversial things. Because I was thinking like, why am I pregnant for Future? Why Future? Because that’s the craziest,” she said.

Dave Grohl’s two oldest daughters have deactivated their social media accounts after their father admitted to cheating on their mother Jordyn Blum and fathering a secret baby girl.

The Foo Fighters singer, 55, admitted to cheating on his wife in an Instagram statement on Tuesday, September 10.

Grohl and Blum, 48, met in 2001 and have been married since 2003. They share three daughters – Violet, 18, Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10.

His two eldest daughters, Violet and Harper, have deleted their Instagram accounts following their dad’s announcement.

“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her,” Grohl wrote on Instagram.

Republican presidential nominee and former U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday night, September 10, 2024 alleged that Haitian immigrants in Ohio were abducting and eating pets, unleashing anti-immigrant rhetoric during the much anticipated televised debate between him and US Vice President Kamala Harris.

“They’re eating the dogs. They’re eating the cats. They’re eating the pets of the people that live there,” Truml said, referring Haitian immigrants in Ohio.

Ms. Harris called Mr. Trump “extreme” and laughed after his comment.

Trump’s comments echoed claims made by his campaign, including his running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, and other Republicans. The claims attracted attention this week when Vance posted on social media that his office has “received many inquiries” about Haitian migrants abducting pets.
On September 6, a post surfaced on X that shared what looked like a screengrab of a social media post apparently out of Springfield.

The retweeted post talked about the person’s “neighbor’s daughter’s friend” seeing a cat hanging from a tree to be butchered and eaten, claiming without evidence that Haitians lived at the house. The accompanying photo showed a Black man carrying what appeared to be a Canada goose by its feet. That post continued to get shared on social media.
On Monday, Vance posted on X. “Reports now show that people have had their pets abducted and eaten by people who shouldn’t be in this country. Where is our border czar?” he said.
The next day, Vance posted again on X about Springfield, saying his office had received inquires from residents who said “their neighbors’ pets or local wildlife were abducted by Haitian migrants. It’s possible, of course, that all of these rumors will turn out to be false.”

Despite previously rejecting doing more than one debate against former US president Donald Trump, current US Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign has swiftly called for another presidential debate against Trump, just moments after Tuesday night’s event in Philadelphia ended.
The debate hosted by ABC was the first between Harris and Trump.

“Under the bright lights, the American people got to see the choice they will face this fall at the ballot box: between moving forward with Kamala Harris or going backwards with Trump. That’s what they saw tonight and what they should see at a second debate in October,” Harris campaign Chair Jen O’Malley Dillon said in a statement.
She added, “Vice President Harris is ready for a second debate. Is Donald Trump?”

Trump debated former President Biden in the now-infamous June 27 clash, during which the president performed so poorly that Democrats called for him to drop out and he ultimately exited the race.
The Harris campaign projected confidence and declared Harris the winner of the debate in its first statement afterwards. O’Malley Dillon said that Harris “commanded the stage on every single issue” and called Trump “totally incoherent.”

The Edo State Police Command, Friday, paraded one Kingsley Paul, 18, for stabbing his lover, 38 to death in a hotel in Benin.
The incident was said to have happened at the Ekehuan Barracks axis of the state.
Parading the suspect alongside other suspects, who were arrested for crimes ranging from murder, kidnapping and others, the Police Public Relations Officer, Moses Joel Yamu, said that the suspect took his woman friend to the hotel and stabbed her to death.
He said the suspect would be charged to court upon the completion of investigations.
Confessing his crime, Kingsley said he and his lover agreed on a fee of N2,000, which he paid to her.
He said that the woman had already taken off her clothes when he stabbed her to death. Kingsley admitted that there was no quarrel between them but he just suddenly took out his knife and stabbed her to death.

In a trending video shared by Dockaysworld on X, the women can be seen in various states of despair and protest as they call on Nigerians and the government to come to their aid.

The viral post has garnered numerous reactions since its posting with many calling on the authorities to get on the matter.
Meanwhile, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission NIDCOM, has reacted to the video and urged Nigerians to desist from migrating to Libya subsequently.
The statement reads;
“We are currently investigating the viral video circulating, but we will like to state that over 10,000 Nigerians were evacuated from Libya a few years ago, based on a memo by Hon.”
“Abike Dabiri-Erewa, approved by the President and a coalition of multi-agency team, Set up to evacuate all Nigerians stranded in Libya.”
“The team visited Libya and the detention cells and ensured all were released.”
“There was a clear warning by Hon Abike Dabiri Erewa advising Nigerians to desist from that dangerous path. But the warning was not yielded to.”
“Over the past few months, has helped to bring back almost 4000 to Nigeria.”
“Sadly, many continue to return and find themselves stranded again.”
“We have escalated this to multi agency evacuation team led by the ONSA as well as the iom.”
“However, for those who are circulating the video or who have contacts of any of the victims, please furnish us with the cells they are in and, if possible, a contact.”
“There are myriads of cells in Libya and in different cities.”
