IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE MONEY FOR PUBLISHER ROCKET, HERE ARE SOME TIPS TO GET KEYWORDS FOR YOUR BOOKS.
Hey guys,
I trust you all have been doing great.
Today, we will be discussing how you can get profitable keywords for your book if you don't have money for Publisher Rocket yet. As we delve into our discussion, be sure to take note of every detail we cover.
Have you been to a pharmacy to get a drug and you don't actually know the name; how do you do it?
That's how I want you to imagine your potential buyers when they visit Amazon in search for books.
In this post, you'll be learning of the PDEP formula I use to get profitable Keywords to sell my books. And you'll be applying same (If you wish)
PDEP stands for Pain points, Desired results, Emotional amplifiers, and Demographic.
1. PAIN POINTS - Let's Understand Your Readers:
You know that feeling when a book truly speaks to your soul? When the name of a drug already screams your problems?
That's it. What is the problem your reader is likely facing?
- Are they looking for ways to tackle the issue of "How to Stop being overweight"?
Understanding these pain points will help you craft powerful keywords that resonate with your readers' needs and readily position your book for when they come searching.
2. DESIRED RESULTS - Let's Inspire Transformation:
Imagine your readers picking up your book and being captivated by the possibilities it offers. They'll be inspired by the outcomes they can achieve. Whether it's:
- Unraveling the secrets of "How to Lose Weight" effectively
Your book's solutions have the potential to be life-changing, and you want to ensure potential readers know it too.
3. EMOTIONAL AMPLIFIERS - Adding Zest to Your Keywords:
Emotions are powerful drivers, and you want your keywords to evoke curiosity and excitement. Just imagine your readers finding your book with keywords like:
- "How to lose weight fast" – igniting their motivation to take action right away
With these emotional amplifiers (fast), you make the path your book offers towards their journey of transformation easy, fast, or preferable.
4. DEMOGRAPHIC - Connecting with Your Ideal Audience:
Your book is unique, and it's meant for a specific group of people who will cherish it the most. Learn to personalize your keywords to resonate with that audience. For instance:
- If your book empowers women, you will optimize for "Weight loss for women."
If you go through these 4 methods listed above, you will see that the keywords were all targeted for weight loss but from different angles. Understand that your readers do not necessarily know your book's name. So, they search their problems, desired results, emotional deficiency or demography applications to find books to apply to them and you have to be there when they arrive.
Activity: for your next book, I want you to apply the PDEP method and obtain 4 unique keywords.
But that's not all. Amazon is a big search engine for products. You must optimise your PDED keywords to become searchable on Amazon. To do that
1. Write out different phrases or topics related to your title based on PDED. As many as possible.
2. Type each of them into the Amazon search bar.
3. Copy out the suggestions from Amazon
4. Repeat step 2 & get many keywords
Sort out your keywords into
those related to your book &
those not related to your book
search them on amazon & view their competition &/or profitability.
Apply the methods thought during the research (in your course) to refine the keywords
You can also use Publisher Rocket or KDSPY to analyse keywords
BONUS
To get extra Keywords for cookbooks and travel guides, you can Analyse words related to your book:
e.g for Atkins diet Cookbook, words like
weight loss,
atkins,
keto diet etc
will help you in targeting your buyers.
For Travel guide to France, words like
Tour guide to france,
Paris Travel, etc.
I will stop here for now. Just keep in mind that the keyword game is an ever changing one and methods will be discovered or improved over time.
I hope you find this tips helpful. Let me know your thought about it in the comment section.
