So apparently, Peak milk and Three Crowns 'deceived us'.😄😄
How old were you, when you discovered that Peak Milk and Three Crowns are actually from the same company?
So as far back as I can remember since Peak milk and Three Crowns became a household name in Nigeria, there is the notion that Three Crowns is the healthier brand of milk, especially for adults.
Personally, I liked the taste of peak milk even from childhood days... You know, all those 1900s (me sef no be small boy o), so if you are like me, who grew up from that home that only wants the most 'healthy' options, you must have had the feeling of having to take 'daddy's' choice.
Well, the validity of the narrative of the healthier milk is not even the issue, after all in Nigeria, the sweeter food is always the less healthy food🌚🌚
But you know the interesting thing for me- It's a genius business move that's been milking success for years for FrieslandCampina.
They provided options for people to choose, and they milked the narrative of "one is healthier and better for adults".
Most of these big companies produce different brands of a product to create a fake competition thereby get a higher share in the market...
Same way one company has the golden penny pasta and the Aunty B pasta..
Same person owns Tecno, Infinix, Itel…. It’s a business strategy.
Any of the product you prefer is fine, the money comes to them regardless
Business/Marketing lessons:
Be your own first competitor, provide the alternatives people want.
Providing alternatives is part of VALUE DELIVERY, which is the main selling point of any busines- to satisfy your customers' emotional interest, preference and choice.
What other lessons do you deduce from this... please share.
This year, let's make the mulla...
