A BLESSED FRIDAY TO US ALL

Hon. Osunwo Buliaminu Jide (OBJ) extends his warm Friday greetings and heartfelt blessings to the good people of Iwo State Constituency.

As we gather on this sacred day of Jumu’ah, may Allah (SWT) shower His mercy upon our homes, grant us peace in our hearts, and bless our land with continuous progress and unity. May our struggles be eased, our efforts rewarded, and our prayers answered.

In his words, drawing from the Glorious Qur’an:

“Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.” (Qur’an 13:11)

This verse reminds us that growth and transformation begin with personal responsibility, good character, and collective commitment to doing what is right. As a people, when we uphold justice, kindness, and sincerity, we open the door to divine favour and lasting development.

My ancestors consistently demonstrated respect to deserving individuals, including the current monarch of Iwoland, Oba Dr. Adewale Abdulrasheed Akanbi, the Ilufemiloye Telu the First. None of them ever compromised their dignity by engaging in fruitless discussions about their position or negotiating respect, for they firmly believed that "respect begets respect'

Alafin of Oyo, with due respect, it would have been befitting to reflect this cultural value by standing up to greet the Olubadan, a revered elder statesman and seasoned politician who deserves esteem.

Regardless of your stature, considering Baba Olubadan's age, experience, and noble standing would have been fitting. Baami Alafin, an opportunity was missed; however, wisdom dictates we learn from such moments.
