We attended the National Data Privacy Summit 2026, hosted by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), and it was a highly impactful experience for me and for Hilarium Digital.
The summit brought together key stakeholders from across the country to discuss Privacy in the Era of Emerging Technologies, with a strong focus on trust, ethics, and innovation. Beyond the keynote sessions and expert panels, the depth of practical insight shared around data governance, compliance, and responsible innovation was outstanding.
Key takeaways that will directly strengthen how Hilarium Digital serves business owners:
A clearer understanding of Nigeria’s evolving data protection landscape and what businesses must do to remain compliant while scaling.
Practical frameworks for embedding privacy-by-design into digital marketing systems, websites, CRMs, and automation workflows.
Better insight into how emerging technologies (AI, data analytics, automation tools) can be deployed responsibly without compromising user data.
Reinforced importance of trust as a competitive advantage for brands that collect, process, and store customer data.
I was particularly impressed by the exhibition area, which I intentionally explored in depth. It exposed me to new technologies and solutions designed to manage, secure, and process data more efficiently. Seeing these tools in action provided practical ideas we can adapt when building WordPress websites, CRM pipelines, analytics systems, and marketing automation for our clients.
Overall, the standard of the event was excellent—from the quality of discussions to the organization and diversity of participants. It reaffirmed my belief that businesses that take data privacy seriously will win more trust, retain customers longer, and grow sustainably.
At Hilarium Digital, this experience further strengthens our commitment to helping business owners:
Build compliant, secure digital platforms
Implement privacy-conscious marketing strategies
Protect customer data while driving growth and profitability
Well done to Data Protection Commission (NDPC) for delivering a summit that is timely, relevant, and impactful.
