My coach just got monetized on YouTube after starting the channel about four weeks ago.
And honestly, there's a lesson here that really caught my attention.
When you're starting out, you don't always need to be everywhere.
You need to know where your attention is going.
My coach already has a huge personal brand and following on Facebook.
So when she started YouTube, she wasn't really starting from zero.
She already had people who knew her.
People who trusted her.
People who were interested in what she had to say.
She simply used the audience she had already built on Facebook to drive attention to her YouTube channel.
And now, less than four weeks later, she's monetized on YouTube.
Of course, her consistency and the quality of the content still matter.
But I think there's another lesson here that we sometimes overlook.
Build your audience somewhere first.
You don't necessarily need to wake up tomorrow and start trying to grow on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and X all at the same time.
That's a lot.
Especially when you're still trying to figure out your content, your message, your audience and your own voice.
Pick a platform.
Learn how it works.
Build your audience.
Get good at creating content.
Then use the audience and experience you've built to expand.
Because sometimes, the easiest way to grow on your second platform is to bring people from the first one.
I'm beginning to understand that building a personal brand isn't just about being present everywhere.
It's about building real attention somewhere.
Then knowing what to do with that attention.
That's the part I'm taking away from this.
Focus first. Expand strategically later.
And yes…
I'm definitely watching what happens next with that YouTube channel. 👀
