From our last event; Here are few ways to increase your website visitors and also keep them coming back!

1. Using SEOs to your advantage

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the art and science of getting pages to rank higher in search engines such as Google. Because search is one of the main ways in which people discover content online, ranking higher in search engines can lead to an increase in traffic to a website.
Traffic that comes via SEO is often referred to as "organic search traffic"

Search results are presented in an ordered list, and the higher up on that list a site can get, the more traffic the site will tend to receive. For example, for a typical search query, the number one result will receive 40-60% of the total traffic for that query, with the number two and three results receiving significantly less traffic. Only 2-3% of searchers click beyond the first page of search results. Thus, even a small improvement in search engine rankings can result in a website receiving more traffic and potentially business.

You can rank your pages on the top of the search engine results by doing these;

• Keyword research - Keyword research is often the starting point for SEO and involves looking at what keywords a site is already ranking for, what keywords competitors rank for, and what other keywords potential customers are searching for. Identifying the terms that searchers use in Google search and other search engines provide direction on what existing content can be optimized and what new content can be created.

• Content marketing - Once potential keywords are identified, content marketing comes into play. This can be updating existing content or creating brand new pieces of content.

• Site architecture optimization - External links are not the only thing that matters for SEO, internal links (the links within one's own website) play a large role in SEO as well. Thus a search engine optimizer can improve a site's SEO by making sure key pages are being linked to and that relevant anchor text is being used in those links to help improve a page's relevance for specific terms.

2. Give Away the Good Stuff

Giving prospects, something of use is a great way to drive more traffic. For example, you can start an affiliate network that enables your traffic to gain or give coupons and discounts when they subscribe to your newsletter

By posting gated content/tools (offering the content and tools in exchange for the user’s contact information), you can maximize your returns and find new leads. Another way to increase website traffic is to promote the content/tools on relevant LinkedIn Groups or forums where people in the industry interact.

3. Create an email list

There are a few marketing techniques that can help you get that critical email address, such as subscribing with their email address to your;

VIP Club
Giveaways
Accounts
You can use one or more of these tactics to build an email list and create a marketing campaign to get sales.

Someone that provides contact information that helps you further the conversation is known as a lead. An email address is ideal because it allows you to contact them in an unobtrusive way and move them forward in the sales process.

4. Add that trust factor

Things like reviews, testimonials, and portfolios help build trust. There is a reason Amazon lists reviews on its product pages: because people trust them. Consider adding them to your landing pages to remind visitors that your brand is trustworthy.
This technique removes the fear of wanting make purchases of your goods or services because they're not sure if they can trust what you offer.

Also, generate top-tier content that provides your viewer with valuable information. That builds trust, as well.

5. Write Guest Posts

Guest posting for other websites is an effective way to generate backlinks, boost referral traffic and increase (Search Engine Results Page) SERP rankings. You should always thoroughly research websites within your industry to pitch.
This builds authenticity for your page but always remember to first look at a website’s content and make sure it’s high-quality, check its domain authority and study its guest posting guidelines. Also, ask the publication if they’ll promote the post on social media and tag you.

6. Get Social

The average adult spends 147 minutes per day on social media. Businesses that know how to leverage the power of this captive (albeit distracted) audience have the opportunity to foster brand awareness, affinity and loyalty. And, of course, draw more website traffic.

The key to social media is to be authentic. It can be tempting to jump on every trend and fad, but savvy scrollers see right through that and aren’t impressed. If it doesn’t fit with your brand — it’s not true to who you are — it’s not for you.

Here are a few social ideas to get you started:

Post content (blogs, e-books, white papers, infographics, videos, etc.) across your social media platforms.
Engage with followers by replying, retweeting and tagging them in relevant content.
Use hashtags that represent your brand.
Video is a great way to entice scrollers to stop and hear what you have to say. Go live or share short, authentically awesome videos that add value (even if it’s just entertainment value).
Be sure to include a call to action on informative and educational posts that push readers back to your content-rich site.
