According to the APC, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu secured over 11 million votes in the party’s 2027 presidential primaries, recording support across all 36 states and the FCT.
The highest vote totals came from Lagos (814,988), Adamawa (644,149), Kaduna (618,914), Imo (582,960), Kano (500,852), and Katsina (467,003). Other strong performances were recorded in Gombe (450,517), Borno (414,988), Delta (407,646), Akwa Ibom (389,197), Enugu (383,382), and Benue (374,787).
The figures have generated widespread debate online, with many Nigerians questioning the scale of the results. Several viral videos circulating on social media appear to show vote counts jumping from single digits to much larger figures during local counting exercises.
However, the APC has dismissed the clips as misleading, arguing that many of the videos are either unverified or unrelated to its primary process.
Supporters of the ruling party argue that if the APC can mobilize nearly 11 million votes in an internal primary election, it could attract even greater support in the 2027 general election.
