In a strategic move underscoring political maturity and respect for tradition, a frontline chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State and immediate past State Legal Adviser of the party, Barr. Uyo-bong Udom Jumbo, has formally consulted the Paramount Ruler of Ika Local Government Area as part of his build-up to the 2027 general elections. The high-level engagement was aimed at seeking royal blessings and aligning his aspiration with the values and expectations of the people.

During the audience, Barr. Jumbo formally declared his intention to contest for the Abak/Etimekpo/Ika Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, emphasizing that his aspiration is anchored on sustaining the long-standing zoning arrangement among Abak, Etimekpo, and Ika Local Government Areas. He noted that the rotational framework, which allows each LGA to occupy the seat for two consecutive terms, has over the years preserved equity, fairness, and political stability within the constituency.
