The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Nentawe Yilwatda, says more than 10 million Nigerians who benefited from the Federal Governmentโ€™s N75,000 conditional cash transfer programme do not have access to mobile phones or social media.

Yilwatda made the disclosure on Saturday while speaking with journalists after a three-day retreat of the partyโ€™s National Executive Council in Maiduguri, Borno State.

He said many of the beneficiaries are among the countryโ€™s most vulnerable citizens and, therefore, have limited access to television and other platforms through which public policies are discussed.

Yilwatda said the Federal Government had provided N75,000 to more than 10 million vulnerable Nigerians through the conditional cash transfer scheme under the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.

The programme has, however, faced scrutiny over beneficiary figures and payment verification. The World Bank recently reported that 10.44 million households had been reached by cash-based social intervention programmes as of August 2026.
