YOU CAN’T MANAGE YOUR TIME, BUT YOU SAY YOU WANT REMOTE WORK.

I see this a lot. People want remote work because “flexibility is life,” but can’t actually manage themselves.

You log in at 10, take lunch at 1, scroll for two hours, then wonder why tasks aren’t done. Your team messages you, you reply hours later. Your boss follows up, you give excuses.

Me, I get it. Flexibility is amazing. But flexibility doesn’t mean free-for-all.

Remote work rewards self-management more than anything else. No one is watching you every 10 minutes. Nobody will chase you like in a traditional office. Your productivity is your reputation.

Some ways this shows in real life:
Your email is dry. You check it when convenient, not when urgent.
You turn off push notifications because “it distracts me.” Then you miss key updates.
You don’t log your progress or communicate delays. The world assumes you’re ghosting.

Here’s the truth: your digital presence is your performance.
If people can’t see that you’re showing up consistently, delivering updates, or following through, they won’t trust you.

Remote work is not just a vibe. It’s a system.
It’s earned every day by showing up, communicating clearly, and managing your time.

So I’ll ask you, are you actually ready to work remotely? Or do you just like the idea of freedom?

Drop your experience in the comments.

Unlike most people in tech today who jump from one skill to another, I have never been that person.

If I have multiple skills today, it’s not because I was confused or chasing trends.
It’s simply because my role evolved into them.

Did I ever consider trying something else? Yes.
And the major push was the environment around me.
The people who coded were accorded more respect.
It was almost like if you weren’t coding, you weren’t providing value.
The subtle belittling of other roles almost pushed me into learning how to code.

Almost!

But one thing I don’t do is lie to myself.

I am very good at making noise online, managing, structuring, planning, and organising.
If that’s not seen as a strength because people think “anyone can do it”, then no problem.
Because the honest truth is this
Everyone can do it, but it will never be the way I do it.

There is always room for differentiation.
And that differentiation is me.

So why am I writing this?
Because the noise is here again.
Today it’s AI.

Before now it was software development.
Then it became cybersecurity.
Then data analysis.

My feed is full of two-cent advice telling people to abandon their roles and pivot immediately.

Should I shock you?
You will cry 😂

I started out as a Social Media Marketer.
As time went on, I upgraded into digital marketing.
My environment then leaned me towards product marketing.
With growth, I began dealing with data through marketing analysis.
My role expanded, I managed more people, more processes, more structure.
It was only natural to upgrade into product management.

Notice the word I’m using
Upgrade, not pivot.

Because when you look closely, these roles are intertwined.
I didn’t need to learn something entirely different.
I was building on what I already knew.
That’s why the transition was easy.

The online space will tell you your role is saturated, outdated, or dying.
But if you’re not someone who follows the crowd, trust me, your space is still untouched within the multitude.
Don’t be a confused sheep.
It’s already bad enough to be a sheep, now add confusion?

Most people want to pivot fully because they lack trust and competence in their current role.
And let me balance this properly

When I talk about AI, I’m not saying don't be interested in it, but do not abandon everything and become an AI content creator.
If you’re a software developer, learn how AI makes your work easier.
If you’re a marketer, learn how AI fits into your industry and workflow.

Upgrade. Don’t abandon.

I’ve talked enough.
Over to you.
What pressure are you currently feeling in your career right now?

One thing working across different products has taught me is this

Most people don’t fail because they’re not smart.
They fail because they build in isolation.

I’ve seen teams spend months perfecting features nobody asked for.
I’ve seen founders argue endlessly about ideas instead of testing them.
I’ve seen professionals overwork on things that didn’t move the needle.

And almost every time, the issue is the same.
No real feedback loop.

You cannot build for people you don’t listen to.
You cannot improve what you don’t observe.
You cannot scale what you don’t test.

Some of my most useful work moments didn’t happen in meetings or planning sessions.
They happened in user conversations.
Watching how people actually behave.
Seeing where they hesitate.
Noticing what they ignore.

That’s where real decisions come from.
Not vibes.
Not assumptions.
Not “this is how we’ve always done it”.
Just real behaviour.

If there’s one skill that has paid me over and over again, it’s learning how to step outside the building and look at what’s actually happening.

Everything else flows from there.

What's that one thing you've learnt while working in your industry?
I’ll be in the comments.

A lot of people think clients hire you because you have skills.

From my years of working as an admin and HR personnel, I can tell you this.
That’s not entirely true.

People hire you because you make things make sense.
You can be a very skilled designer, marketer, product person, whatever. But if you cannot clearly explain what the problem is, why it matters, and how it should be approached, you’ll keep being overlooked.

Most founders are not confused because they lack ideas.
They are confused because they lack clarity.
They don’t know if their idea is actually viable.
They don’t know who exactly they’re building for.
They don’t know what should come first.
They don’t know what problem they should even be solving.
And that’s where most products fail, not ex*****on.

This same thing applies to hiring.
That’s where your hiring success or failure comes in.

How well can you make things clear for your potential clients or employers?

Over time, working across different products and industries, I’ve realised something. Once clarity is fixed, ex*****on becomes easier. Decisions become faster. Marketing becomes more intentional. Growth stops feeling like guesswork.

This is why two people can have the same skillset and one keeps getting hired while the other struggles.
One sells skills.
The other sells direction.

If you’ve been struggling with communicating clarity around your skills, you might need to get back to the drawing board.

And yes, this is exactly the kind of work I do. I don’t just help companies and products find clarity in their work, I also help entry-level and junior professionals properly sell their worth.

You can always hit me up for a clarity session.

I was watching Miss Indian, a business rivalry movie on Netflix, and one line hit me harder than expected.

A business mogul told Miss Indian, an upcoming small business owner,
“One should look at the necessity of the product in the market before looking at an opportunity.”

At first glance, you might agree.
And depending on the product, that statement sounds right.

But on a scale of 1 to 100, about 98 percent of the time, as a business developer with specialties in product marketing and product management, and having worked on multiple products across different industries, I’ll tell you this for free.

The necessity of a product is usually created by the product itself.

Most people didn’t believe it was necessary to use banking apps.
A lot of people resisted the change.
And this is money we’re talking about. The fear of security breaches was real.
Yet, gradually, people pivoted.

In the same movie, Miss Indian dared to sell tea in America, a land of coffee.
At first, she struggled.
People found it difficult to move away from familiarity and culture.

She didn’t start by selling necessities.
She started with an opportunity.
Then she sold the necessity.
Opportunity came first.
Necessity followed.

Will this work for every product?
Of course not.
But 98 percent of the time, it works for most products.

My name is Eni Nnendah Queen, and my work is helping founders and business owners gain clarity on their ideas and products, while identifying the right opportunity needed to create necessity in the market.

If you want your product to have strong footing and clear direction in the market, I am your person.
You can reach out to me for a consultation.

Let’s talk in the comments.
Do you think necessity comes before opportunity, or opportunity creates necessity?

A lot of graduates today complain about how companies expect years of experience from them.

“How do they expect experience when I just graduated?”

But let’s be honest. Nobody cares.
This is your life. Your journey.
And this pattern didn’t start today. It has been there for generations.

So the real question is
Why didn’t you plan for life after school?

If you are in the medical or health field as an undergraduate
There are alot of opportunities online and tech enable and related roles you can venture into as an undergraduate.
MedVA Courses you could take
Communities you could join
Internships you can even do remotely

You could even learn content creation
And started creating health content niching down to your field
Look at people like Aproko Doctor

If you studied mass communication or marketing
There is really no excuse (trust me, I feel like flogging any of you who join the crowd to complain)

Your industry literally lives online
While you were/are waiting to graduate
You could have been learning social media
Content strategy
Brand communication
Digital tools that your industry now demands

There are many ways to build experience while still in school, Many ways
And trust me
That “I just graduated” line
It is already stale

Online has made it possible to create your own path
You can build experience
Build skills
Build visibility
Before you even collect your certificate

Just the way you aimed/aim to bag a first class
You should also aim to bag an advantage for life after school
Don’t let the environment you find yourself in
Or the country you were born into
Limit your potential

Push.
Fight.
Plan ahead.
Your breakthrough won’t happen by complaint

It happens by preparation.
I’ll see you in the comments, if you have anything to say

Where are my people?

Yes you! Online and everywhere there are motivations and takes to eh, do this now, do that now

But I have a different opinion/approach for you

Just take a minute to hear me out

In my last post, I shared tips on how to choose a tech skill in 2026.

One of the points was don’t learn in silence.
Then I got this question in the comments from Enyinna Treasure Akudo
(check image to see the question)

What if I tell you that even as a professional, I am still learning and still undergoing trainings?
Yet today, people comment under my posts and ask me for direction.
Is it because I know everything?
No.
It’s because I am seen.

Learning never ends.
Training never stops.
So the question is
Do you keep waiting until you think you are done?
And when exactly will you know that you are done learning or done training?

Every single day, new tools come out.
New trends come out.
The learning never truly stops.
So if you’re waiting for perfection, you’ll wait forever.

Show us the imperfect.
Let us watch you grow.
Time waits for no one.

Let’s take a social media marketer as an example.
A social media marketer who doesn’t show up on social media will never fully understand that theory and ex*****on are two very different things.
You can read all the books.
Watch all the videos.
But until you start doing, you won’t really learn.

So let me ask you back.
Do you think we have to wait until things are close to perfect before we show up?

Who would you trust more?
Someone you watched grow over time
Or someone who just appeared from nowhere and suddenly calls themselves an expert?

I’ll be in the comment section reading your thoughts ❣️

Love is an action word but does actions only affect others but not ourselves?

If we understand how to love ourselves, we will attain a higher level of peace within us.

1 Corinthians 13 vers 4 urges us to take a charge at love.
