Centre L*D Hosts Dialogue on GBV prevention in Otukpo
The African Centre for Leadership, Strategy & Development (Centre L*D), under the aegis of its Side-by-Side project, shall be hosting a gender-based violence prevention dialogue from Tuesday, July 1, 2025, in Otukpo, Benue State.
The session which will bring together leaders of youth groups, women organizations, religious and traditional leaders, and representatives of community-based organizations is purposely to spark conversations around Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) prevention.
According to Essien Nyong, the Project's Focal Person at Centre L*D, the dialogue is conceptualized to empower community members to challenge harmful gender norms as a way of fostering local solutions to gender-based violence and discrimination challenges. “The dialogue is about building bridges between groups, sharing real stories, and identifying collaborative ways to creating lasting changes,” he said.
Participants will engage in shared learning; strengthen advocacy strategies including exploring how community-led efforts can drive long-term social transformation.
