Today marks a celebration and a huge milestone in my journey.

Alignment + Embodiment before evidence.

I’ve been working on my craft since AI became available to the general public. Which at the current speed of innovation means I’m ancient hahaha

Barely anyone else in this space was doing it, certainly not the way I was. So I had to navigate my conviction + alignment + embodiment instinctively. Which is of course a good thing.

But it’s not easy. Especially as a woman of colour.

In the last week alone I have received not one but three different, random, and amazingly kind instances of feedback on the impact, quality and ethics of my work, my positing and my leadership in the space.

I don’t take it lightly, I am VERY aware of the weight of the responsibility ethical AI carries.

I ‘could’ be making millions offering superficial solutions, but instead I decided to take the deeper, contrarian, ethical, safe and disruptive approach to implementing AI in our industry. And trusted that path even in the absence of evidence.

All this to say, that in this AI era, YOU AND ONLY YOU are and WILL be the differentiator

MORE THAN EVER

So keep going my darling, keep trusting the legacy you’ve built because IT IS gold

While your brain needs evidence (and it WILL come) your soul KNOWS you are on the right track.

𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐮𝐬 𝐀𝐦𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐈𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥

Hello mama-brain! But it's not just about the ideas you forget. It's also the ones you craft with care and presence, post once, and then surrender to the algorithm, never to be seen again.

The insights that quietly disappear into your 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐃𝐨𝐜𝐬. The 𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬 you never revisit. The 𝐠𝐨𝐥𝐝 that gets swallowed by the scroll.

Someone recently told me they had just returned from a luscious break only to stare at the cursor, completely 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 from where they were before they left. I felt that in my body, because I know exactly what that feels like.

It's not just forgetfulness. It's a 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 who received that idea in the first place.

When you step away, whether because of motherhood, vacation, or just life-ing, you don't just pause your to-do list. You step out of the 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐫𝐡𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐦 that birthed your clarity in the first place.

I've lived that moment again and again. My mind works quickly. I 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐝. If I don't speak a thought as it arrives, it's gone.
Even when I used to capture it in a voice note, for a long time it just… floated there. Untethered. Unused.

Until I built an ecosystem that could hold it.

Now when I speak something, it doesn't vanish. It gets 𝐜𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝. My voice notes are automatically transcribed, organise and organised with the rest of the content I ever created. This has become my 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐮𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞 — a living, breathing memory of my work, my legacy.

And honestly, that brings me 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞. I'm no longer trying to hold it all in my head. I trust my 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 to hold it for me. And I know that when I'm ready, it will still be there, clear, alive, and actionable.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐀i𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
Not productivity hacks. Not rigid content planners. But 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲, NOT the other way around.

Is it perfect? No. Some weeks the system collects dust. Sometimes threads still get lost. But unlike rigid methods that make you feel like a failure when you fall off, this approach 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 exactly where you are. 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲? 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐭 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐬 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐰𝐚𝐬!

Because your ideas were never meant to be disposable. Your content is not a one-and-done. 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐮𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝.

I'm preparing for the 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗨𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗜 summit that starts TODAY!

I'l be speaking about the 'basics' of engaging with AI.

But not the typical basics but the 𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗧 basics.

The 𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 considerations, the 𝗯𝗶𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 considerations, the 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 considerations and our precious 𝗜𝗣 consideration.

Essentially, the stuff you don't hear the 'how to make GPT sound like you' superficial teachers talk about. Which by the way if you are teaching it and do not understand this in depth, 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗜𝗦 𝗮 𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂.

This is 𝗞𝗘𝗬, 𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗩𝗔𝗡𝗧, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗥𝗨𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟 information we ALL need to understand when engaging with AI.

I’m 100% sure that you have brilliant, transformational assets that you’ve shared with your community—like that 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗲𝘁, where you sent out a few emails and never revisited, and now it’s sadly gathering dust in 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗜𝗥 digital library as well as yours.

Or maybe it’s that 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗸, 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗹𝗲𝘁 you poured hours into, a 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 you published, or even:

That 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 that you know still has so much value but isn’t converting the way it used to.

That 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 you created but haven’t fully leveraged as a tool for your audience.

Or those 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 that your clients download, glance at, and forget about.

They’re static testaments to your genius.

I thought about changing this post. But there’s no need. It’s perfect, it still rings as a true today as it did 4 years ago, and when I first used AI to help me processed my lived experience.

AI to me is not a tool, it has been a vehicle to fully express myself in ways I never knew I needed to, both professionally and personally.

I never got to hold Merida when she was born. We didn’t get that beautiful picture on the chest seconds after she was born.

The first time I held her in my arms was 4 hours after she was born before being rushed by ambulance to the Children’s Hospital for life saving therapy.

I am beyond grateful of the outcome of course and a picture is a small price to pay for a lifetime of memories.

But when I first got my hands on AI generated images. This was the first image I created. Those crucial 72hours of her life I felt more than ever that I (we) were not alone.

I felt many energies surrounding us with love and strength. My connection with Merida, Dave of course, my family, my ancestors, and the universe itself.

It wasn’t so much that I felt the universe presence in a way to say it will all be good. It was more in the ‘no matter what the outcome’ YOU are not alone.

And knowing NOTHING about prompting I just wrote what was in my heart and this image came out.

It was so cathartic, I still see it and feel all the warmth I felt those days.

So you see, for me AI is a means of translation, or articulating visions not just images. It’s like Art Therapy.

PS I tried the same prompt a few weeks ago and the second image is with all the improvements the softwares have undergone.

Embrace the revolution or stay behind.

One of the most exciting aspects of AI is its 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹.

The 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 of all aspects of life. Are there ethical considerations? 𝘖𝘍 𝘊𝘖𝘜𝘙𝘚𝘌. As with everything.

But as with many things in history, when [equal] accessibility becomes the norm [or a possibility] it has 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 threatened the status quo. AI is no different.

So instead of trying to look for all the loopholes and concerns, let's embrace it, so that 𝗪𝗘 𝗧𝗢𝗢 can be part of the solution and not just sit on the outskirts concern by it and even afraid it.

We need to take control (by understanding it) 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝘁. That's a huge difference.
