Inspiration board for Friday.🤍

Soft white petals, quiet textures in sand and shell, and a touch of silver for good measure. This is the kind of calm we’re chasing into the weekend.

A client asked me the other day: «Which font fits us best?»

I get why that question comes first, it feels like a concrete, solvable choice. But it’s actually the last question I answer, not the first.

To show why, I picked one completely random word: Stone.

Same word. Four completely different brands. None of them is the «right» font for the word Stone, because the word itself has no personality. It’s the color, the typeface and the placement that decide whether someone reads it as luxurious, natural, precise or playful.

That’s why I always start a project with questions, not font choices. Who is this for? What should they feel? Does the brand sit closer to traditional or modern, friendly or precise?

The answers decide the font. Not the other way around 🤍

Which of the four versions felt closest to how you think about a brand? Which of the four would you pick? Comment below 🤍

Some of the best projects don’t start as a business concept. They start as a question one person can’t shake.
That’s how it was with AXL. 🤾

Behind the identity is the belief that performance that lasts isn’t built through pressure or being the best as fast as possible. It’s built where structure, relationships, reflection, the right effort, and consistency meet.

Safety before pressure. Quality over random volume.

We don’t often get a brief with this much genuine thought behind it, and that made our job clear: the identity had to carry the same weight.

Not a logo that screams «performance» the usual way, black/red, arrows pointing up, hardcore fonts. We landed on something calmer and sharper instead: a dark, structured base with a bright lime as the only accent, and a logo built around an X, the point where AXL’s core values meet 🤍

This is exactly the kind of brand we love cheering for, built on something real, not just a good idea.

Seen a brand lately that felt built on something real, not just a clever concept?

This is exactly why I love what I do 🤍

This is actually the third project I’ve gotten to build with Anders, three strong brands, each with their own identity. That kind of trust is everything.

My best idea this summer came from a sun lounger.🏖️

Not in the middle of a work session, but because I was actually trying to let my mind rest for once.

I said in July I’d let this summer stay empty and unplanned. Honestly? It went about halfway. My body took a break, my mind never got the memo.

But somewhere in the middle of that, on a sun lounger in Spain of all places, an idea showed up that I couldn’t shake. It’s slowly turning into something real, launching this fall 🤍

What I’m bringing back to work isn’t really about working less. It’s about letting go a little more: not doing everything myself, trusting people who are better at their craft than I am, and switching off without my phone lighting up beside me.

Still a work in progress, not something I’ve figured out.
Did you manage to fully switch off this summer, or did it go halfway for you too?
