I grew up in the South West, moved back to the South West for 4-5 months at the age of 30, and still belong to the South West no matter where I happen to find myself in the world. It will always be home for me.

"Whether you call it it a set menu or a fixed menu β€” the concept is the same; and it certainly isn’t a new one."

Some of my favourite chefs and restaurants work on a set menu only basis, carefully crafting the culinary journey that they want their guests to take. Some may prefer the choice an a la carte menu affords them, but I love being challenged, excited, and surprised by the creativity on display when chefs are given a set menu as their platform.

Recently, I took a deeper dive into the concept of set menus for Hospitality Magazine, interviewing three incredible WA chefs (thanks for the assistance Karen Hickling and Dianne Bortoletto!) to get their perspective on the fixed style of dining.

This is a friendly reminder to stop and for yourself ❀️

I've had a huge few weeks and it's the little moments - be they going for a 15-minute run, standing in a hot shower in the middle of the day, or cracking and sipping on a cracking bottle of wine - are what have kept me sane. NEVER underestimate the power of a few minutes to yourself to just stop and breathe (or, in the case of going for a run, not stopping and struggling to breathe πŸ˜‚πŸ˜œ)

These photos may have been taken months ago, but the memories of this exquisite high tea at are still as fresh as ever. Nowhere in Perth does a gluten free high tea quite like The Westin!! Unlike other establishments, there's no lumping all dietaries together or stale gluten free bread. Its a high tea miracle!!
