After a LOT of experimentation I feel like I am finally taming the beast that is gel plate printing…

I am really pleased with my last effort pictured - which will be part of a series of ‘landscape patterns’, complete with actual pattern tissue which is collaged on to the plate as part of the layering. I used fabric to pull ink off like a reverse stencil. Lots of fun…

I do a lot of traveling between Christchurch and Wanaka and never get tired of the scenery. The weather can create amazing atmosphere.

Some of my pics - just snapped on the iphone through the window the car - are just begging to be painted. I'm taking one step further and keen to explore some gel-plate printing. I've shouted myself a guide book, a roller and a gel plate! (Watch this space?!)

I had a lot of fun with this one. Hubby Mike's work, Miller Gale Winter, needed some art on the wall of their (boring) boardroom & I was tasked at finding some. I designed something instead! Christchurch streets include where the business has been located over the years, and current & past addresses of the three partners. Special mention of Pat who worked for MGW for over 60 years (!) & who bused each day...

Looking back at some of my favourite projects... Risingholme Community Centre in Opawa ,Christchurch, needed a garden map for the City Council's Heritage Week. I enjoyed some watercolour painting to produce a map for their garden tour, which was also printed in a smaller postcard.
