The festive season is here whanau!
Today I headed down to in Napier to switch out my Aotearoa inspired card collection to my Christmas collection.

and of course while I was there I had to cop myself some sweet, sweet donuts and cookies! Go check them out at their stores in Napier and Hastings, either treat yourself or someone you love with a combo of sweets and a card to go with them 😁

Most importantly support local businesses this Summer 🌞

I am so grateful to now have my mahi stocked in store and soon to be online with HAPA. Every opportunity I get to showcase my mahi Toi in spaces that really represent and create platforms for Māori creatives is awesome and uplifting. So if you are in Christchurch go check them out at The Tannery or check out their website to shop online, perfect for options for Xmas pressies!

Thanks again Hapa!

No bias here ... well maybe a little!
NZ themed Christmas Cards... designed and made right here in Napier and available at Adore Collection, 93 Emerson Street, Napier.
We try not to have favourites - we love and appreciate all our suppliers, designers, makers and carvers equally ... but Jasmine who designed and made this collection and lives in Napier is having a baby in January and so a little extra support is justifiable! - Plus she is lovely and so are her designs!
Give a NZ themed Christmas Card this year (we do have other NZ designed and made Christmas Cards to browse as well)
available from
* Adore Collection, 93 Emerson Street, Napier
* More 2 Adore, 126 Hastings Street, Napier
Open 7 Days
See you soon.

Really having fun with this butterfly series I have been working on!
This seamless pattern is inspired by the Common Tussock which is one of three endemic species of tussock butterfly that live in Aotearoa. The most widespread is the Common tussock and all species are only found in the South Island.

Which butterfly should I do next?

Behind the scenes of creating my latest pattern ‘Rauparaha’s Copper’

This pattern is inspired by the Rauparaha’s Copper butterfly which is endemic to Aotearoa also known as Pepeparariki or Mokarakare. These small copper bitterflies are found mostly in coastal areas, because if their short life span (about 10 days) they tend to stay close to their host plant. The underside of pohuehue plants is where you will find their tiny white eggs.

It is said to be named after the tīpuna Rauparaha because it is often found in the places which Rauparaha battled.

A big shout out to the local businesses that support my mahi and sell it on my behalf. It is always a great feeling to see my work on the shelves and hear the feedback from customers. This store is Adore collection on Emerson Street Napier, and they have another store on Hastings street that also stocks my work.

Every store is unique and has its popular products it's really interesting to see which designs appeal to different crowds. It keeps me on my toes and teaches me to not be so critical of my creations because sometimes the artwork I like least is one the customers like the most.
