We’ve been proud partners of the Echo Walking Festival for nearly 4 years now, helping to bring this amazing event to life! And here’s some exciting news: the 2025 festival is expanding to Te Puke and beyond, offering even more scenic walks and adventures for all ages and abilities.

Whether you’re a regular walker or just enjoy a casual stroll, there’s going to be something for everyone. We’re thrilled to support the festival as it continues to grow and bring people closer to nature.

The Te Puna Memorial Hall Project Committee, with the support of Creative Bay of Plenty - Te Waka Auaha Toi, are inviting expressions of interest from emerging and established artists for a paid commission to design and create a permanent window installation at Te Puna Memorial Hall, Tauranga Moana. This installation will honor Jo Gravit’s vision of expressing Te Puna’s environment and landscape through colored light, contributing to the hall’s legacy and community spirit.

Location: Te Puna Memorial Hall, 3 Te Puna Road, Te Puna 3176, Tauranga
Commission: Paid
Deadline for EOI: EXTENDED to Friday 12 July
Design and Installation Due: November 2024
Shortlist Notification: July 2024
Final Selection Notification: August 2024

They are seeking artists who can capture the essence of Te Puna’s natural and cultural heritage in a non-representational way, in line with Jo Gravit’s vision. Consideration of Te Puna’s cultural history and community, and collaboration with mana whenua, Pirirākau hapū, is encouraged to honor Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
