New website lauch for https://parkshelter.co.nz - a local Whangarei business who wanted to give their many word-of-mouth clients somewhere to land when they looked them up. A very common request for busy local companies - they don't need a website to bring in extra business, but there is an expectation to be able to be found when someone is looking for them. Sound familiar?

What's the perk of your job you are most grateful for today?

Over a week since I had surgery to remove a benign tumour from my thigh, and this is still far more comfortable than sitting in a chair at my desk. Very fortunate to be able to do what I do from the comfort of...anywhere!

If your site is running slowly, rather than adding a bunch of optimisation and caching plugins - let's first look at your hosting. The below example is a new client who came to us with an existing WordPress website. The only change made to get from the before to the after score was moving to a better host. Bonus points that they are now also supporting a kiwi hosting company with fantastic customer service, the price is the same AND it can be paid monthly. No long term contracts, stay because you want to.
Want us to take a look at yours?

A new Woocommerce store has launched for Saltandoil at https://saltandoil.nz - a big move from a self-build WIX site for the client. A beautiful fresh look, but soooo much under the hood to make their customer experience smoother - and to seriously streamline admin tasks in the office!

The WordPress 7.0 update has rolled recently with a raft of new features and AI integration options......And also a new colour scheme in the admin dashboard that not many of you are fans of. Totally OK, the bright blue on black actually fails contrast checks for accessibility (which is odd, because improving accessibility is why they did it apparently 🤔). But there is an easy fix!
Go to Users > Profile > change the colour scheme to "Fresh" and it will go back to how it was before 😎

Spent the afternoon at my first Whangārei Startups event. With so many clients who are at this crucial stage, it is great to know what networks, support and resources are available locally to recommend for an additional boost. So, follow their page and keep an eye out for their next event. See you there!
