New project, preparing our son's car for a full wrap. Older cars need a bit more tlc as paint fades and chips as well as acquiring a few dents and scrapes along the way so both of us on the tools to get the surfaces ready. Also the black strip along the bottom edge has an orange peel effect so that needed to be sanded off. Preparation is key to vehicle wraps to get the best results. Watch this space!

Bumpers can by tricky but understanding the limitations of the vinyl and how and where to use inlays can reduce unnecessary tension on the vinyl, using the body lines to conceal the paint. Seven pieces were used in the making of this bumper wrap, x6 inlays and the main wrap.

Back in the day many of us as we were learning thought the one and only option to wrap bumpers and mirrors was in one piece. You were a legend if you could, unfortunately the amount of stress on the vinyl produced vinyl failure in many cases. Being smart and using the body lines can hide the joins by adding inlays and more than one piece. This is a simple solution to a common problem. Bumper pics to follow.
