UPDATE: PNG Air has responded to me! 🙏🏾 And flights out from Hoskins will resume tomorrow! We are so back! 💙💙💙💙
‐-----‐------------------------------------------------------------
Any PNG Air planes landing in Hoskins yet? Or is that going to be delayed indefinitely until the runway is ready to receive flights?

Time is running out, PNG Air needs to let us know so we can find other ways to travel.
Some of us have deadlines and need to travel on the dates booked.

We have booked and paid for our flights and deserve a timely update, so we can arrange for other alternatives if need be.

Thanks! 🙏🏾

Preparing for El Nino in WNB:

💧 1. Secure Your Water
Catch every drop: Clear your gutters immediately to maximize rainwater collection into Tuffa tanks before the rain completely stops.
Fix leaks: A single dripping tap can waste over 100 liters a day—repair them now.
Boil drinking water: As river and well levels drop, bacteria become concentrated. Boil all water to prevent typhoid and diarrhea.
Reuse greywater: Save dishwashing water to use on your gardens.
Tap the deep aquifers: Kimbe sits on top of massive underground fresh water. As the dry spell lowers the water table, focus community efforts on drilling deeper boreholes and wells to reach this clean, deep water.

🍠 🥬🫛2. Plant the Right Food Crops
Focus on hardy roots: Plant Cassava (Manioc), Taro Kongkong, and Yams (Mami), which can survive with very little water.
Get NARI Kaukau: Look for specific drought-tolerant sweet potato vines (like Rongrong or Guria) from local agricultural networks.
Smart greens: Plant Pigeon Pea (Kila) for hardy beans, and use young Cassava leaves as a constant source of fresh greens that won't wilt.
Plant in deep holes: Do not use high mounds right now, as they dry out too fast. Plant in deeper holes or trenches to shield roots from the baking sun.
Mulch heavily: Cover your garden soil with coconut husks, banana leaves, or dry grass to lock in moisture.
Build shade: Use palm fronds to shelter young greens and nurseries from the scorching sun.

🔥 3. Stay Safe & Coordinated
Zero open burning: Never burn rubbish or clear land with fire right now. With the dry brush, a small fire can easily get out of hand and threaten homes or oil palm blocks.
Team up: Talk to your neighbors now to agree on how you will share community wells or public tanks if water runs low.

Looking to buy a battery charger for this Camera's battery pack.
Camera Brand: Canon EOS 600D

The battery is an ELASO LP-E8 battery.

So apparently I will need an LP-E8 battery charger.

Any information or recommendation will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you. 🙏🏾
