The Nation's Capital particularly has experienced an unprecedented growth of which much is negatively reflected on the population growth and increased informal settlement. Consequently the government's revenue collection through proper installed systems of PNG Power, Eda Ranu, Land taxes /rentals and other sources are jeopardized. What remains unattended are better housing scheme for paid workers and public sérvants who also seek shelter in squatter settlements. Therefore the question is can we continue to live under distress or could there be a sudden shift to create a pleasant and healthy urban environment.
