IMEE REACTS WITH 'BWAHAHAHA' AS DOJ SAYS ZALDY CO NO LONGER IN CZECH CUSTODY

Sen. Imee Marcos on Tuesday reacted with "Bwahahaha" to reports that former Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Zaldy Co is no longer in the custody of Czech authorities.

The reaction came after Justice Secretary Fredderick Vida confirmed that Co had been released following his earlier arrest for immigration violations.

In a press briefing at the Philippine Embassy in Prague, authorities said Co was accosted on April 16 but was later released, with the exact date of his release still unclear.

Despite a standing warrant of arrest issued by the Sandiganbayan and his designation as a fugitive, officials acknowledged that Co is now free and is believed to still be somewhere within the Schengen Area.

Authorities said they have "workable intel" tracking Co's movements, noting that he was traveling by land and may have crossed borders despite carrying an expired passport. They added that inspections within the Schengen zone are minimal, allowing easier movement between countries.

Officials declined to disclose specific details of Co's location, citing ongoing operations, but expressed confidence that he would be apprehended again.
