ILOILO CITY RISES IN GLOBAL STARTUP RANKINGS AS A TOP INNOVATION ECOSYSTEM IN THE PHILIPPINES

Secures Rank 5 in the Philippines, Ranks 744th Worldwide in 2025 Index
ILOILO CITY, Philippines – May 2025 — In a significant advancement for regional innovation, Iloilo City has made its inaugural appearance in the 2025 Global Startup Ecosystem Index, securing the 744th position among the top 1,000 startup ecosystems worldwide. This achievement solidifies Iloilo's standing as the fifth-ranked startup ecosystem in the Philippines, alongside Manila, Cebu, Davao, and Cagayan de Oro.

This marks Iloilo's first recognition in the international rankings compiled by StartupBlink, a preeminent global startup ecosystem mapping and research center. The Index evaluates more than 1,000 cities globally based on criteria including startup quantity, quality, business environment, and technological infrastructure.

This accomplishment reflects the concerted efforts of local government units, academic institutions, private sector partners, and the dynamic startup community in Iloilo, including UMWAD Western Visayas, DOST VI, DTI VI, DICT VI, Innovate Iloilo, Fyrlab Accelerator, and PCCI - Iloilo, along with our Technology Business Incubators, startups, enablers, Industry, and community leaders.

Naglab-ot sa 3.9% ang inflation rate sa Iloilo City sang Marso 2025, mas mataas kumpara sa 3.7% nga naitala sang Pebrero, suno sa ulahing datos sang Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

Ang pagtaas sang inflation ginpangunahan sang pagsaka sang presyo sang pagkaon, ilabi na ang bigas, karne, kag utanon. Suno sa PSA, ang presyo sang bigas nagbilin sang dako nga epekto matapos nagsaka sang 23.5% sa nasambit nga bulan.

Ginpahayag man sang PSA nga ang housing kag utilities, upod ang electricity kag tubig, nagdugang man sa pressure sa presyo.

Sa pihak sini, nagpabilin nga mas manubo ang inflation sa Western Visayas sa average nga 2.7%, pero nakita sa Iloilo City ang gamay nga pagsaka sa presyo sang mga balaklon.

Padayon ang panawagan sang mga otoridad sa publiko nga maging maalam sa pagpalit kag gamiton sing husto ang mga resources samtang ginapaninguhaan nga mabantayan ang epekto sang inflation.
