Common duties you may include in your job description are:
1. Answering phones and greeting visitors
2. Scheduling appointments and maintaining calendars
3. Collecting and distributing mail
4. Preparing communications such as memos, emails, invoices or reports
5. Writing and editing letters, reports and instructional documents
6. Creating and maintaining electronic and physical filing systems
7. Managing accounts and performing basic bookkeeping
8. Performing data entry and analysis
9. Assisting with event planning and coordination
10. Ordering and maintaining office supplies
11. Processing expense reports
12. Managing travel arrangements
Skills and qualifications
Hard skills: Proficiency with software like Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Google Docs/Calendar is essential. Other skills include scheduling, filing, and basic accounting.
Soft skills: Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills are crucial for success.
Education: A high school diploma is typically required, but college courses or a degree can lead to higher pay and more opportunities.
Qualities: Integrity, discretion, and ambition are also important qualities for the role.
