[WHAT FILIPINOS THINK ABOUT: PH FLOODS]

While we are starting to see clearer skies today, the conversation about recent flooding has not slowed down.

We reviewed 6,853 Facebook comments on the recent flooding to understand what people were focused on. The large majority were about the flood control funds, the projects that failed, and the demand for accountability.

Corruption and missing funds was the most common theme, with 1,096 comments. Infrastructure failure and blame directed at the national government followed. Calls for investigation and resignation came through clearly. Comments pointing to weather or climate as the cause were a small minority.

The pattern is consistent. When flooding happens, the public conversation moves quickly from the water to the question of where the money went and who is responsible.

[BEST RAINY SEASON SHOES FOR EVERY PINOY]

249 Reddit comments on what Filipinos wear when it rains. Sorted by who's wearing what:

- Runners: adidas with 27 mentions. Praised for grip on wet roads and drying fast.
- Corporate workers: Crocs with 26 mentions. Worn on the commute, swapped for real shoes at the desk.
- Students: EasySoft with 22 mentions. Cheap, comfortable, practical for daily use.
- Practicality (or for floods): rubber boots with 10 mentions. The pick when the water gets deep.
- Style: Melissa with 10 mentions. Waterproof and easy to clean.

One detail worth noting: across all 249 comments, grip on wet ground came up more than waterproofing. People worry about slipping more than getting wet.

And that’s why we went through 561 comments on Reddit and TikTok where Pinoys shared the small things they do outside of work to feel human again.

Here’s what came up the most:

- Fitness & Movement (61) topped the list, with walking and 10k steps leading.
- Then Culture & Entertainment (42), where FlipTop rap battles were the surprise crowd favorite (BIG surprise btw)
- Outdoors & Adventure (30) with freediving and hiking.
- Food & Cafes (30) for the cafe hoppers and solo travelers.
- And Arts & Crafts (21) for the watercolor and pottery crowd.

One thing we loved: the best side quests are cheap. A long walk, a comshop game of Y8, a weekend watercolor session.

Which global in-house companies do PH netizens actually recommend?

We read through 765 comments on TikTok and Reddit, and four names kept coming up: Wells Fargo , Willis Towers Watson, Capital One , and Optum .

The praise was almost always the same: good benefits, WFH, and work-life balance. So was the complaint: mababang starting pay.
