Our relationship with food is connected to our relationship with nature. If our nourishment comes from the earth, then how can we explore its abundance through our food choices, the way we prepare our food and the way we manage our nutrition? What are the foundational foods we can bank on to secure our health and to build our life force, and in a bigger sense, to secure the health of the planet? How can we reclaim our rich local food diversity as the basis of what we put on our plates? How can we maximize organic values to create a diet that is sustainable, affordable and accessible, that supports our local farming communities, and that builds the Filipino food web?
Join Asha as she takes you on a journey to understand the power of seeds and roots as the foundation of a healthy diet and to appreciate the role of food diversity in keeping our microbiome healthy - which are all too important at this time in building a resilient immune system.
She will walk you through her wide collection of edible local organic seeds (grains, legumes, nuts, and small seeds) and a wide variety of vegetables sourced from organic farms and grown from her humble garden, and will also share a few ideas on how to create a biodiverse plant-centered diet. She believes that to heal our food system, we need to start by healing our personal relationship with food.
