Description

The ORDO Vest is for the motorcycle taxi driver; by wearing this, you allow the passenger to get on the motorcycle easily and safely ride up to their destination holding onto the vest because the ORDO vest has three grab pads from the top, middle, and bottom of the back, both left and right, a total of six. When getting off the motorbike, the ORDO vest grab pads are safe to hold without making it uncomfortable for the passenger and rider.

ORDO Vest is sewn in fabric, and on the top layer is a neon color to make it reflectorize day and night; wearing it is not only for the safety of the passengers but also for the rider because they can be visible, and wearing should be tight when you hold it; there is force. Its belt has a safety buckle and an adjustable strap on the hips and shoulders to fit any size driver. Because it is a vest made of fabric, the weight is light, and there are no metal or other materials inside, so it is comfortable to wear.
A QR code is printed on the back of the right side of the vest so passengers can scan it and see the rider's basic information, so that passengers feel safe knowing their driver. So, if you lose your vest, they cannot just wear it because of your Identification from the QR, and I can return it to you because of your QR ID from the vest.
ORDO Vest is not only for motorcycle taxi drivers; personal or private motorists can also wear it. They can use it primarily for long driving.

Abstract

The safety of the passenger riding in a motorcycle taxi remains unclear. The safety handle or pad is essential for moving the motor up to the passenger's destination. We cannot see all motorcycle taxi drivers, and they don't have one. Also, most of the passengers are uncomfortable or too shy to hold the rider's body or arm, which is why they keep their balance while riding, which makes it really not safe; they may fall down throughout the trip. Even if the rider offers his arm, that may lead to physical contact with a passenger, which may have issues that can result in inappropriate situations.

It is my observation every day I commute to see all the passengers of motorcycle taxis, the difficulty in where they can hold properly and safely while riding in the motor. Not only for the commuters but also those riding with their partner, relative, or friends have the same difficulty riding for their safety.

I myself have the same experience of driving my personal motor for 18 years. Once, my 13 years old daughter rode with me from Manila to Antipolo for one and half hour. I asked her to hold on to my back, but she said it was ok. But I'm worried for her because I know she is not holding safely.

That is why I developed an Industrial Design under the Utility Model, a Vest Called ORDO Vest (Outfit of Rider Driving an Offer Vest). The primary use of this vest is for the safety of the passengers of a motorcycle taxi, who are to sit and ride and can hold into a rider safely with physical contact but not direct contact with both driver and passenger. Also, the vest is reflectorized so the rider can be more visible in the street day or night.

One thing that makes the vest unique is its QR code. Once the code has been scanned, it will provide the basic information of the Motorcycle taxi driver and their picture. With this feature, a passenger can easily confirm the rider's name from their booked trip, from that point, you as a passenger have a secure feeling.
