Unlike evergreen material (which lasts indefinitely or until the user removes it and is not seasonal), ephemeral content is lost and cannot be accessed again on social networking networks. 🤓🧐

That is, unless users choose to save their short-form content in folders like Instagram's ""highlights"" function.

Snapchat was the first to think of the concept. Simply, ephemeral material is web information that has a limited lifespan. After the expiration date, the content simply evaporates (which is sometimes as little as 24 hours).
