From September 21 to 23, 1972, the Philippines entered a period that would profoundly shape the countryโ€™s history, culture, institutions, and collective memory.

Decades later, its impact can still be seen in the stories passed down through generations, the experiences of those who lived through the period, and the continuing conversations surrounding freedom, leadership, human rights, and democracy.

Remembering Martial Law is therefore not simply about looking back. It is about understanding how the decisions and actions of the past continue to influence the society we live in today, and why the lessons of history should not be forgotten.

As students and future professionals, we also have a role in preserving these lessons. For us as Marketistas, communication is a responsibility. The information we create, share, and amplify can influence how people understand issues and remember the stories that shape our society.
