EPD CONFISCATED ALMOST 1 MILLION WORTH OF ILLEGAL DRUGS IN A WEEK ACCOMPLISHMENT
The Eastern Police District (EPD) intensified its battle against illegal drugs, delivering a major operational breakthrough with the arrest of 61 drug personalities and the seizure of PhP910,884.00 worth of illegal drugs from May 25 to May 31, 2026.
Through 47 relentless anti-drug operations, EPD Drug Enforcement Units confiscated 98.39 grams of shabu and 0.1 gram of ma*****na, and 155 grams of kush significantly crippling street-level drug distribution and disrupting the flow of illegal substances across Metro East.
These results stemmed from the aggressive implementation of the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) strategy, an intelligence-driven approach focused on precision targeting of drug personalities and networks. Coupled with strong community cooperation, EPD continues to tighten its grip on illegal drug activities.
Police Brigadier General Melecio M Buslig Jr., Officer-in-Charge, EPD, emphasized the district’s uncompromising stance, “This is a clear message, there is no safe haven for illegal drug activities in Metro East. PBGEN MELECIO M BUSLIG, JR., Officer-in-Charge of the Eastern Police District (EPD), presided over the 1st EPD Command Conference under his leadership at approximately 8:30 AM on June 2, 2026, held at the EPD Headquarters Conference Room along Caruncho Avenue, Pasig City. Joining him were PCOL IRENEO B DALOGDOG, Acting DDDA, PCOL MARLON L QUIMNO, OIC, DDDO and PCOL ARTHUR A SALIDA, OIC, CDDS.
During the conference, District Staff members and Chiefs of Police from the PaMaMariSan Cluster Police Stations presented their administrative and operational accomplishments, as well as updates on their upcoming programs and activities.
In his message, OIC, EPD emphasized the importance of maintaining discipline at all levels of the organization and ensuring strict adherence to the directives and guidance of RD, NCRPO and the Chief, PNP. He also directed all units to further strengthen law enforcement operations to sustain EPD’s standing as one of the safest police districts within the NCRPO and to continue exemplifying excellence, professionalism, and discipline in the performance of their duties.
Moreover, the OIC reminded all EPD officers to consistently reinforce among their personnel the importance of avoiding any involvement in illegal activities that could tarnish the reputation and integrity of the organization.

Pat Lloyd Martin D Justo and Pat Chiquito S Tabiolo, while on routine motorcycle patrol, were exposed to provocation but maintained composure and strictly followed police protocols. Rather than escalating the situation, they exercised maximum tolerance, upheld the rule of law, and ensured a peaceful resolution.
Their commendation was presented by NAPOLCOM Commissioner Ralph Calinisan during a press briefing at the NAPOLCOM Central Office in Quezon City on June 1, 2026.

The Eastern Police District (EPD) formally accorded Arrival Honors and conducted a Talk-to-Men program for its newly designated Officer-in-Charge, PBGEN MELECIO M BUSLIG, JR, a member of the PNP Kaagapay Class of 1996, held at around 11:00 AM on June 1, 2026 at the EPD Multi-Purpose Hall, Caruncho Ave., Brgy. Malinao, Pasig City.
PBGEN Buslig Jr., was warmly received by the members of the EPD Command Group led by PCOL IRENEO B DALOGDOG, Deputy District Director for Administration (DDDA), together with the District Staff, Chiefs of Police of Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, and San Juan City Police Stations, Force Commander of the District Mobile Force Battalion (DMFB), as well as other key officers, Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs), and Non-Uniformed Personnel (NUP) of EPD Headquarters.
In his Talk-to-Men address, OIC, EPD emphasized strict adherence to the five (5) guiding principles of the Regional Director, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), PMGEN ANTHONY A ABERIN, namely: observance of basic crime prevention and solution; full adherence to Police Operational Procedures (POP) in the performance of duty; doing what is right at all times; non-involvement in any illegal activities; and full respect for personal belief and religion while staying close to GOD.
He underscored that rogue police officers have no place in the Eastern Police District and within the Philippine National Police (PNP), stressing that accountability and discipline will be strictly enforced. He likewise assured that personnel who perform their duties properly will be duly recognized and commended.

JUSTICE UPHELD: DMFB NABS 2 MOST WANTED ROBBERS IN THE METRO EAST

In line with the Eastern Police District’s intensified campaign to ensure public safety and bring fugitives to justice, District Mobile Force Battalion nabbed two most wanted robbers in two separate operations on May 5, 2026.
The first operation, at around 1:40 PM, was conducted beside Palawan Express along Marcos Highway, Brgy. Santolan, Pasig City, leading to the arrest of a.k.a. “Recca,” 21- year old male. The second operation, at around 3:00 PM, was carried out along Marcos Highway, Corner Pambuli Street, Marikina City, resulting in the arrest of a.k.a. “Nonoy,” 31-year old male.
Records show both arrests were made based on Warrants of Arrest issued by RTC Branch 165, Marikina City for Robbery under Article 299 of the Revised Penal Code, with recommended bail of Php72,000.00 each. The operations stemmed from a series of rigorous validation and surveillance to track and apprehend the suspects. Upon confirmation of their identities and locations, the DMFB personnel executed the warrants. Both suspects were informed of their constitutional rights and underwent physical examinations at Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center prior to documentation.
Police Brigadier Aden T Lagradante, District Director, EPD, lauded the DMFB personnel for their outstanding performance. "Your steadfast dedication to public service continues to reflect in the exemplary fulfillment of your mandated duties. The arrest of wanted persons is a vital part of our mission to ensure a peaceful environment. Thus, let us carry on with our earnest efforts to serve the people and protect the community,” he said.
The arrested suspects were placed under the custody of the Marikina City Police Station Custodial Facility, pending further orders from the issuing court.
