Let’s End It With Us!
“Why Adventists Don’t” posts have been trending lately. Many of my Adventist friends have shared their own versions.
I grew up in an Adventist culture where “RESTRICTIONS” often seemed louder than being “LOVING.”
But as Adventists, we are called to see everything through the lens of God’s love. Take food and drink, for example. God isn’t trying to take away something good from us. He’s protecting us. He created us, and He knows what harms our bodies. Out of love, He gave us this wisdom in Scripture long before science confirmed it.
Pause and think about this: every “don’t” from God isn’t about limiting us. It’s His way of saying, “I love you too much to let this destroy you.” Behind every boundary is His protection, His care, and His desire for us to live well.
God’s character of love—Agape—isn’t just a theme in the Bible; it is the very heartbeat of His Word.
As Seventh-day Adventists, may we not be known only for what we don’t do, but for the love we live out—for the compassion we show, the grace we extend, and the kindness that reflects Christ.
Let’s end it with us.
