Tourism stakeholders, local government representatives, and media practitioners from across the region strengthened their collaboration for tourism development through the Tabuk City Tourism, Arts and Culture Convergence: โTara, Link Tayo,โ launched on September 22.
The activity was organized by the Office of the City Tourism and Cultural Affairs (OCTACA), led by Arlene Odiem and anchored on the themes Lakbay, Interaksyon, Negosyo at Kultura, highlighting the importance of partnership among local government units and tourism stakeholders in promoting destinations, culture, and local tourism enterprises.
Following the workshop on September 23, participating local government units presented their proposed inter-LGU tourism circuit development plans, showcasing how their respective destinations, cultural attractions, products, and experiences could be linked to create tourism circuits for visitors.
The participants also presented strategies on how they could market their proposed circuits, including the destinations and activities that visitors could experience, as well as estimated costs and other considerations for tour packages.
The presentations provided an opportunity for the participating LGUs to learn from one another and explore ways to complement their respective tourism programs.
Participants expressed their commitment to maintaining connections and strengthening cooperation to promote the benefits of tourism while continuously improving their strategies and tourism services.
As part of the convergence, the participants also embarked on a tourism familiarization tour to selected destinations in Tabuk City.
One of the stops was Barangay Bantay,
known as one of Tabukโs fruit-producing areas, where participants were introduced to the cityโs agricultural tourism potential and the various fruits produced in the area during their respective seasons.
The group also visited Barangay Naneng, one of Tabuk Cityโs heritage communities, where they experienced a glimpse of the communityโs cultural traditions and local practices.
The participants were able to observe the preparation of inandila, a traditional local delicacy associated with the communityโs cultural celebrations.
They were also given the opportunity to taste the delicacy and learn more about its significance during local festivities.
Through the familiarization tour, the participants experienced firsthand some of the destinations, cultural practices, food, and agricultural products that Tabuk City can offer to tourists and visitors within a day.
The activity demonstrated the potential of linking destinations across local government units while promoting each communityโs distinct tourism assets, with the goal of creating more meaningful and interconnected tourism experiences across the region.
The โTara, Link Tayoโ convergence serves as a platform for tourism stakeholders to establish partnerships, exchange ideas, and develop collaborative strategies that can contribute to the growth of tourism while preserving and promoting the cultural identity of participating communities.
