Brgy. Dilag and Brgy. Lucog emerged the Grand Champion of the 2026 Gangsa Award for Urban and Rural barangay category respectively for their outstanding performance under the Search for Good Local Governance in Barangays (SGLGB) demonstrating exceptional commitment to transparency, accountability, innovation, service excellence and community empowerment.
Dilag Punong Barangay Winnie Balitnang and Lucog Punong Barangay Nicanor Edas along with their council members received their incentives of 300,000 pesos, marker, and 1 set of gong during the awarding ceremony held on June 23 during the formal program of the 19th City Founding Anniversary celebration.
Top Performing barangays for both category were also recognized and awarded cash prizes and marker for setting the benchmark for excellence in barangay governance.
RURAL BARANGAY
2nd Place: Brgy Cabaritan-200,000 pesos (Hon Salvado A. Anga-angan)
3rd Place:Brgy. Malalao-150,000 pesos (Hon. Efren P. Bangcoleng)
4th Place:Brgy. Masablang-100,000 pesos (Hon. Randy L. Amano)
5th Place:Brgy. Lanna-50,000 pesos (Hon. Dolores D. Anggadol)
URBAN BARANGAY
2nd Place: Dagupan Weste- 200,000 pesos (Hon. Carina D. Capuyan)
3rd Place: Bulanao- 150,000 pesos (Hon. Cosme B. Gunnawa)
4th Place:: Laya East-100,000 pesos (Hon. Wilson B. Colalong )
5th Place: Casigayan-50,000 pesos (Edwin B. Tangonan)
Tabuk City institutionalized the Gangsa Award through Ordinance No. 19 series of 2025 providing incentives to barangays for their effective local governance that goes beyond compliance with standards but also demonstrates impactful leadership and service to their constituents.
