Where to Eat in Tacloban: Presenting Danrie Restobar

If you’re a local and someone asks where to find affordable but really good food, Danrie Restobar is an easy recommendation! It’s the kind of place you can visit after work, on a casual weekend, or when you just want comfort food without spending too much.

Their menu offers generous servings, familiar flavors, and dishes that actually hit the spot. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, perfect for catching up with friends or having a laid-back meal with family. Service is friendly, and the overall vibe makes you want to stay a little longer.

Usually every weekend, my parents visit us in Tacloban, and most of the time you’ll find us having lunch at Hap Chan Tacloban Branch 🀀

This has always been my parents’ go-to restaurant and will forever be part of our β€œwhere to eat” list. It’s one of those places we don’t even have to think twice about because we know the food will always be good.

Even while typing this, I’m already craving their Fried Squid with Salt and Pepper. It’s crispy, flavorful, and always served just right.

What we usually order are the Yang Chow Fried Rice (β‚±478), Lumpia Shanghai (β‚±408), Beef with Broccoli Flower (β‚±458) which is my dad’s all-time favorite, Fried Squid with Salt and Pepper (β‚±398), and their Sweet & Sour Fish Fillet (β‚±498). Every dish is consistent and comforting, which is why we keep coming back.

Their food always feels like home to me. Highly recommended 10/10!

After a long day of running errands, we were seriously craving something comforting and ideally somewhere with a Christmas vibe to help us unwind. That’s how we ended up having dinner at La Maison Punjab πŸ·βœ¨πŸŽ„

And honestly, it was perfect for the night we needed. The whole place was beautifully decorated for the season. It felt cozy, festive, and exactly what we were hoping for after a tiring day.

We ordered their signature garlic naan (P150), roti (P250), pani puri (P300), butter chicken (P590), and their super soft mutton curry (price varies depending on the market; ours was P750). Everything was delicious, and each dish hit the spot.

We went home with happy tummies and big smiles. Truly a solid 10/10 food and dining experience.

Little Flower Cafe truly hit the spot 🀀✨

At first, we were a bit lost and had to ask around where the cafΓ© was located, but it turns out it really is inside the STEFTI Campus in Abucay. Since we were craving something new and a breath of fresh air, we ended up stumbling upon this newly opened cafΓ©.

We were greeted immediately by their staff, and we were surprised by how stunning the architecture and ambiance were. It also has plenty of outlets, which is perfect for working or studying, and you’ll love its industrial brutalist vibe.

We ordered their Gianni og Peperoni (β‚±350), Tartufata Tagliatelle Pasta (β‚±285), Rue Big Breakfast (β‚±350), Iced Sea Salt Latte (β‚±165), Smiski Drink (β‚±195), and their Ube Cloud (β‚±180).

My sister absolutely loved the Smiski Drink, calling it her best matcha find in Tacloban. As for me, I fell in love with their Ube Cloud!! It was creamy, dreamy, and a must-try when you visit.

All in? We’re clocking this experience at a strong 8/10.
