The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) has turned over a โฑ1.881-million Concrete Solar Dryer with Mini Warehouse to the Kahapan ma Kawman Tapian Bohe Association, providing local fisherfolk a modern facility to improve their post-harvest operations.
The turnover ceremony was held on October 22, 2025, at Barangay South Tapian Bohe under the Post-Harvest and Marketing Support Program of MAFAR. Funded through the General Appropriations Act of the Bangsamoro (GAAB) 2024, the project aims to enhance post-harvest practices, minimize losses, and help fisherfolk produce cleaner, higher-quality dried fish and seaweed products.
Senior Aquaculturist Radma Isnani, representing Director General for Fisheries Services Pendatun Patarasa, said the new facility reflects the Ministryโs ongoing effort to support the fisheries sector across the Bangsamoro region.
โThis facility represents MAFARโs commitment to uplift the lives of fisherfolk. May it serve as a tool for progress, sustainability, and shared prosperity,โ she said on behalf of Director General Patarasa.
Senior Aquaculturist Evelyn Martinez said the projectโs successful completion was the result of close coordination between the regional and provincial offices. She noted that the Ministry continues to invest in post-harvest infrastructure and provide technical support to strengthen the provinceโs fisheries and seaweed industries.
Supervising Aquaculturist Rudy Canizares assured the beneficiaries of the Ministryโs continuous guidance in managing and maintaining the facility, expressing optimism that it will help increase productivity and improve the income of local fisherfolk.
Afdal Amilassan, MCRM, Representing Municipal Mayor Rhodesia Matolo-Sali, thanked MAFAR for bringing the project to Tapian Bohe
