With 2023 right around the corner, we’re counting down the last few days of 2022 with a few highlights of the year!

After years of hosting countless students for their internship, this year we decided to introduce the Qadra Design Internship Project. Paired with a design mentor, each design intern was tasked to redesign a logo and a website of an existing brand chosen for them. The intern then goes through a journey peppered with brainstorming huddles, review sessions, and design talks; everything culminating in a final presentation to the entire Qadra team.

N**E Mints sells a modern version of mints that not only freshens your breath but also gives you a healthy gut, all in a sleek and sexy package. Rejecting the look and feel of boring and traditional mints, N**E Mints is a small, transparent, multi-layer mint capsule that flavorfully explodes in the mouth to spread freshness from within and cleanse the gut. With a game-changing product in their arsenal, they wanted a visual landscape that was as equally scene-stealing. That’s why they teamed up with Qadra Studio to refresh their branding, develop a website, design social media posts, and create assorted marketing materials.

For the N**E Mints website, we wanted the design to be bold and engaging just like their mints. Their branding before was too dark and serious. We pivoted away from that by making their website more colorful and fruity. From the hero banners to the footer, these sections all have bright and fun designs highlighting the different and fresh flavors of their mints.

We also designed N**E Mints’ various social media posts for Instagram and Facebook. We used punchy colors, bold text, and playful images for their amusing memes and advertisements to match their vibrant and cheeky messaging and tone. With their fairly young target market, we equaled that youthful energy in each post.

Another way that N**E Mints marketed its products was through email newsletters. These mirrored their bright and zesty vibes and were tailored to maximize engagement. Leaning on the lively and flashy visual brand language, we designed the newsletters with dynamic layouts and distinct illustrations that mimic the innovative and fun mints.

The result of our fruitful partnership was colorful and fun branding, a bold and vibrant website, fresh and funny social media posts, and engaging and inviting email newsletters that exemplified the sexy, exciting, and rewarding experience of N**E Mints.

EngageMedia is a nonprofit organization spread across the Asia-Pacific, including Australia, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand. They promote digital rights, open and secure technology, and social issue documentaries. Uniting video, technology, knowledge, and networks, they support the region in advocating for human rights, democracy, and the environment. They work together to ensure their advocacies are respected by businesses and governments in the region.

As EngageMedia champions digital rights, they approached us to support the design and development aspects of their organization. Taking cues from their established branding, we created their website assets, as well as the design of their corporate collaterals. We made interesting and thought-provoking designs that appealed to their technologically savvy, community-oriented, and strong-willed audience.

Behind the scenes, we also worked on the development and maintenance of EngageMedia’s website and web pages of their events, blog, projects, newsletters, and videos. This involved keeping the website secure, updated, and optimized through regular plugin updates and site optimizations.

We also designed different marketing materials for EngageMedia. We created eye-catching and modern designs for their social media posts and event promotions, as well as visuals for their podcast. From the layout to the subtle details, we produced captivating designs that adhere to their identity and advocacies as a company.

Other than their marketing materials, we worked on creating a seamless look and structure for the blogs and reports that both strengthened the brand and got the message across. For their blogs, we tailor-made each and every illustration and graphic to its article, and for their reports, we meticulously developed layouts that best displayed their content and statistics.

As we further strengthen our partnership with EngageMedia, we continue to support them by creating thought-provoking and engaging content to mobilize and inspire their audience to advocate for digital rights, open source technology, and social issues throughout the Asia-Pacific.

ATRAM is an independent asset manager, providing custom investment solutions through its products in the Philippines. With their strong commitment to clients, along with their global network in the finance industry, they manage mutual funds, trust assets, insurance portfolios, and real estate for proprietary and third-party clients. Since its establishment in 2009, they’ve won multiple awards, pioneered programs in its field, and reached over PHP 100 billion in assets under management.

To further grow and solidify its brand, ATRAM wanted a comprehensive brand guideline that firmly displays its identity and provides a coherent brand experience for both its employees and its customers. They wanted to establish a cohesive and recognizable visual language that speaks to both how they are as a company and who they aspire to be. With a consistent visual brand, the company will present itself as the professional and detail-oriented asset management firm that it is, forging forward as a strong, unified front.

ATRAM’s brand guideline ensures visual and brand consistency in using the brand name, logo, typography, color palette, and other design elements. Our goal in designing and strengthening their brand is to create a contemporary look that can last for generations. From the minimalist layout to the distinct yet subtle design elements, we gave their brand a modern yet timeless flavor that also exudes an air of experience and knowledge.

In the end, we created a guideline that not only strengthens ATRAM’s voice but also serves as a torchbearer to how the brand can and should be — a guiding light as they engage, inspire, and work together in building toward a better future.
