A little practice beyond the lecture.

Today I tried recreating the homepage layout of Slack as part of my web design practice.

I’m realizing that just watching lectures isn’t enough to learn a skill. You have to actually practice, try things yourself, make mistakes, and learn from them.

Still learning, still practicing, and slowly getting more comfortable with building things on my own. 🤍

Class 05 & 06 | WordPress + Elementor 💻

Two more classes completed!

These classes were more practical, and I got to understand some important parts of actually building a website.

I learned how to:

✅ Install WordPress through cPanel
✅ Understand the purpose of Themes
✅ Work with Elementor Page Builder
✅ Structure pages using sections and columns
✅ Add headings, text, buttons and videos
✅ Use the Navigator to manage different parts of a page

One thing I found interesting was understanding the difference between a Theme and a Page Builder.

A theme gives a website its basic foundation and appearance, while a page builder gives more freedom to create and arrange the actual page design.

The more I learn, the more I realize that professional web design is not just about making something visually attractive. The structure behind the design matters too.

One class at a time. One skill at a time. 🌱💻

💻 WordPress Class 03 & 04 Completed

Today's classes reminded me that building a website is much more than installing WordPress.

Here are a few things I learned:

✅ A domain and hosting don't always come from the same provider, and knowing how to connect them is an important skill.

✅ Tools like Cloudflare help improve website security, speed, and overall performance.

✅ Small professional habits—like using the client's own billing details and checking auto-renew settings—can make a big difference.

One lesson that really stayed with me:

"Clients don't just pay for a website. They pay for someone they can trust."

The more I learn, the more I realize that web design is not only about creating beautiful websites—it's about making smart decisions and working professionally.

Every class is helping me build that foundation, one step at a time. 🚀

I learned something interesting today.

Before this class, I thought building a website was mostly about choosing colors and creating beautiful pages.

Now I know that's only a small part of it.

Every website needs a strong foundation first.

✔️ Domain
✔️ Hosting
✔️ Security

And one lesson I don't want to forget:

Technical skills help you build websites.
Honesty and professionalism help you build trust.

I'm enjoying this learning journey one class at a time.

Trying to learn too many skills at once.

I used to think more courses meant faster success.

But I learned that real progress comes from focusing on one skill, practicing it consistently, and building something with it.
