How to Win BuyBox for Wholesale Account:
Are you a new seller or struggling in winning amazon buybox to get sales?
Here, I share some very major points that you should consider before doing me too with the brand listing.
1. FBA Seller: Amazon gives privileged to FBA sellers as compared to FBM sellers. The reason is Amazon also earns from FBA and inventory storage fees. While if you are doing FBM, possibilities are that your shipment may be late or you cancel the order as you can’t ship on time. And it will turn to increase your Late Shipment Rate, which shouldn’t be above 4% and Order Cancelation Rate which would be under 2.5%. So, eventually, it affects your account health rate if you are doing FBM and make it difficult to win buybox.
2. Competitive Price: Price also plays a supreme role in getting buybox. Your Price should be competitive. If all other sellers are selling a Z product for $20, and if you lower your price to $19.89, you will win buybox early. For that when you calculate profit margins of a product, always consider the lowest price in which that product has sold.
3. BuyBox Rotation: Before selecting a product, you must check its 30 and 90 days buybox rotation. Buybox should rotate at least 30% in all sellers and there is no one seller who is taking a major buybox chunk.
4. Stock of other Sellers: Amazon gives preference to those sellers who maintain their inventory. You shouldn’t be out of stock and must check your competitors’ stock level before finalizing a product.
5. Quality of Product Shouldn’t be Compromised: When you are buying inventory make sure that you purchase from the authorized distributors, otherwise if the quality is not up to the mark you get negative reviews which leads you to compromise on getting buybox.
6. Brand’s Account Health: Before selecting a product do must check brand account health, it must be 90%.
7. Maintain your Account Health:Keep maintaining your account health also by selling the right quality products and buying from the right authorized distributors of the specific brand. It will lead you towards Positive ODR (Order Defect Rate) which must be less than 0.26% and no late shipping.
8. Reviews and Ratings: If at the start you don’t have ratings and reviews on your account, you can ask your distributor if he has $1 or $2 product and list them on your account and further buy reviews and ratings on those products.
9. Sell the Right Variation: Sometimes people are failed to analyze which variation is selling best and they list those variations which have not good selling rate. Do must check in Keepa which variation is selling best and place that variation’s order.
10. Amazon and Brand itself are not Selling: Some people do mistakes and sell those products which are sold by amazon as they said it has less BSR and huge sales. Maybe in the short time, they maintain to get buybox when amazon is out of stock but in the long term when Q4 starts Amazon won’t let you win buybox.
11. Seasonal or Trendy Products:Sometimes people also make a major mistake by selecting those products which are seasonal or trendy, and when they deliver the inventory to the amazon warehouse season is out. For that, you must check the BSR for the last 6 months and 1 year, if there is a huge fluctuation in BSR it means it’s a seasonal Product.
12. Never Jump into that Product which has More FBM Sellers: If a product has more FBM Sellers than FBA, it means either sellers are doing Dropshipping or the product is sold by the manufacturer, or the product is heavy in weight. For FBM sellers they don’t pay Amazon and warehouse charges so they are in profit, which we need to calculate profit margins after deducting Amazon fees, Inventory prep and ship to amazon warehouse fees. So, the reason could be we are in loss if we select those products.
