Your customers are telling you how to grow your business. Are you actually listening? 👀
Most businesses spend their time chasing new customers running ads and trying to beat competitors. But the real growth opportunity often lies in understanding the customers they already have.
If I were running your business, these are the 5 things I’d want to know:
1️⃣ Why do customers buy from you?
Is it your quality pricing service convenience or the experience you deliver? Identify what makes people choose you then double down on it.
2️⃣ Why don’t they buy?
Every lost sale has a lesson. Maybe your pricing isn't clear, your offer isn't compelling or your sales process creates friction. Find the gap before spending more on marketing.
3️⃣ What do they compare you with?
Your customers aren't making decisions in isolation. They're comparing you with competitors alternatives and even the option of doing nothing. Understand what you're really competing against.
4️⃣ What do they complain about?
Complaints aren't just negative feedback they're opportunities to improve. Repeated complaints reveal problems in your product service communication or customer experience. Fix the root cause not just the symptom.
5️⃣ What makes them come back?
A first purchase generates revenue. A loyal customer can generate repeat business referrals and long-term growth. Discover what earns their trust and gives them a reason to return.
Here's the real business lesson:
Growth doesn't always come from doing more. Sometimes it comes from understanding better.
Talk to your customers. Read their reviews. Ask the uncomfortable questions. Study their buying behavior. And most importantly act on what you learn.
Because your customers may already be showing you what needs to change what deserves more investment and where your next big opportunity lies.
Stop guessing what your customers want. Start listening to what they tell you.
