TikTok is rolling out a new feature called "Creator Search Insights." It helps creators know what users are searching for on the app. This way, creators can make content that people are interested in.

With Creator Search Insights, creators can see popular topics users are searching for. They can use this info to inspire their content and make it more appealing to their audience. The feature also lets creators filter results by topics like sports or science.

Creators can see which topics are trending and have a high chance of getting engagement. They can use this to guide their content strategy.

Similar to YouTube, creators can find "gap topics," which are subjects searched for a lot but not seen in many videos on TikTok.

Creators can remove or report search topics they don't want by pressing on them for a while.

TikTok is also considering search trends when calculating payouts for creators in its rewards program.

This update provides more insight for creators on TikTok. Combined with other tools like the Creative Center, it helps creators research trends and improve their content.

Not everyone has access to Creator Search Insights yet. It's available in selected regions, with more coming soon. If you can access it, you can find it by searching for "Creator Search Insights" in the app or through your settings in the Creator Tools.

LinkedIn has decided to discontinue its "Creator Mode" option as part of a broader shift away from using hashtags as a key connecting tool. Despite this, most Creator Mode features will still be available as optional tools for all users, even if Creator Mode is not activated in their settings.

Originally introduced in 2021, Creator Mode on LinkedIn offered tools to help users establish their presence on the platform. These tools included associating topical hashtags with profiles, showcasing content in a "Featured" section, and replacing the "Connect" button with a "Follow" button on profiles.

However, LinkedIn is now moving away from this optional setting. Starting this month, profile hashtags highlighting content topics will be removed. Next month, the ability to switch on Creator Mode will also be removed from profile settings. The "Follow" button will remain for all users, providing an alternative means of connection, and the "About" section will be moved back to the top of profiles.

LinkedIn aims to bring the best features of Creator Mode to more members, opening up additional creation tools and deeper analytics for all users in the coming months. The platform is streamlining the profile appearance by eliminating the need to toggle Creator Mode on and off, removing "Talks About" hashtags, and relocating the "About" section.

LinkedIn explained that hashtags are no longer necessary for content discovery, as the system now uses topics and keywords within posts for relevant conversations. The platform is scaling back on hashtags as a focus, aligning with its increased use of AI to highlight more relevant content.

LinkedIn's shift may indicate a step back from focusing solely on fostering an active community of creative talent. The discontinuation of Creator Mode suggests a move toward providing more users with access to creation options, potentially activating more creators on the platform.

The growth in new member sign-ups from Germany and India has played a significant role in pushing the total audience figures to new heights. But here's the catch โ€“ "members" doesn't necessarily mean "active users." While other social apps like Meta would be scrutinized for reporting overall members instead of active users, LinkedIn seems to get a pass.

It's time to question if having a billion members is truly impressive. We want to know how many people are actively using the platform, not just signing up and forgetting about it. Elon Musk's move to free up dormant handles on Twitter highlights the importance of distinguishing between members and active users.

Despite this, LinkedIn isn't under the same pressure to share actual usage stats. Based on EU engagement stats, my estimate suggests around 400 million monthly active users on LinkedIn. The platform needs to provide more transparency about its active user base for a clearer picture of its real impact.
