“Your design isn’t confusing… your message is.”
Full Post:
Your design isn’t confusing…
your message is.
And design is just taking the blame for it.
I’ve seen this happen a lot.
Clients think the design needs fixing,
so they ask for:
• New layouts
• New colors
• More “creativity”
But even after changes…
nothing improves.
Because the real issue was never the design.
It was this:
👉 The message wasn’t clear in the first place.
If you don’t know:
• What you’re trying to say
• Who you’re saying it to
• What action you want
No design can fix that.
Good design doesn’t create clarity.
It expresses it.
Now before I design anything,
I focus on one thing first:
👉 “What exactly are we trying to communicate?”
Because once that’s clear,
the design becomes simple.
If your posts look good but don’t perform,
don’t just redesign…
👉 Fix the message first.
💬 Be honest—
Have you ever blamed design for something that was actually a messaging problem?
