Local SEO Case Study: Roofing Business (August to November 2025)
Overview
Over a period of 3.5 months, I worked on improving the local visibility of a roofing business through Google Business Profile and local SEO. The goal was to attract more local clients, increase phone calls, and drive more direction requests from people searching for roofing services nearby.
Objectives:
To make the business appear more often in local search and Google Maps results
To increase the number of calls and inquiries
To get more people requesting directions to the business location
To build trust and credibility through regular updates and customer reviews
What I Did
To achieve these goals, I focused on several key steps:
Optimized the Google Business Profile
I updated the business name, description, and service list using roofing-related keywords such as “roof repair,” “skylight installation,” and “flat roof replacement.”
I uploaded high-quality images from real projects and posted weekly updates about completed jobs, offers, and client feedback to keep the profile active and engaging.
Improved Local Citations and NAP Consistency
I made sure the business name, address, and phone number were consistent across online directories like Yelp, Bing Places, and Houzz. This helped build trust with Google and improve local ranking signals.
Used Location-Based Keywords
I included specific local keywords such as “roof repair in London” and “emergency roofing services near me” in the business description and Google posts to target high-intent local searches.
Monitored Performance and Adjusted Strategy
I regularly checked Google Business insights to track engagement trends. Based on what worked best, I adjusted the posting frequency and focused more on services that attracted the most interactions.
Results
After 3.5 months of consistent effort, the results were clear:
Business Profile Interactions: 925
Phone Calls: 232
Direction Requests: 155
Website Clicks: Increased steadily throughout the period
These results show strong growth in visibility and customer engagement directly from Google search and maps.
Insights
Most of the leads came from people actively searching for roofing services near their location. The increase in calls and direction requests proved that the profile optimization and keyword strategy were effective. Consistent updates, high-quality visuals, and a solid review base helped build credibility and improve the business’s local ranking.
Conclusion
In just 3.5 months, I was able to significantly improve the roofing company’s local presence and generate consistent leads without using paid ads. By focusing on Google Business Profile optimization, maintaining accurate local listings, and encouraging real customer reviews, I turned local SEO efforts into measurable business growth.
