Historic NSL-45 Stratospheric Balloon Flight - SkyEdge / AstroLife / Polish Air Force University
On 16 May 2026 at 13:00 Polish local time / 11:00 UTC, from Skotniki, Poland, the SkyEdge Team will conduct the announced flight of the large NSL-45 stratospheric balloon.
This will be an unprecedented civil stratospheric mission in Poland and one of the most ambitious attempts of this type in Europe. The mission objective is to reach an altitude of at least 42 km, with the full flight profile allowing for a potential ceiling of up to 45 km.
The payload will include, among others, the following systems:
Mode-S / ADS-B transponder - enabling the balloon to be visible to ATM services, secondary surveillance radar systems, and on:

WENET 4K - high-rate digital transmission of 4K imagery from the stratosphere. 437.200 Mhz
The flight will also carry an Open Glider Network tracker, ADS-L, and Meshtastic in ShortFast mode.
Optical tracking and live coverage will be provided, with the live stream available on the AstroLife channel:
