From all the things I get to photograph, I guess documenting people’s lives is my favorite.
I took this picture of Sónia this week while she was meditating and we were preparing a campaign with new classes. It isn’t the obvious choice for photography location, but I love the light there, it’s cinematic.

I realize that a lot of you here are for the barber shots and there will be more in near future, but some of my clients seem to forget I photograph interiors and hospitality so this one is for them.
From an assignment in Lagoa da Albufeira - place that is half an hour away from Lisbon yet feels like Alentejo already. Photographed for luxury holiday rental.

That huge oven where tableware is made.
Photoshoots at factories, studios or any other places where things are made is always a treat. I love the behind the scenes. I wish I got access to my husband’s workspace (oil platform, very many dangerous), that would be a movie... really. 😍

One of my friends, who is a bit of a designer needed a haircut and I surely advised him to go to . He said it was “too traditional” for his taste. I tried to prove him wrong by saying that a good cut is always a good cut, but he had his opinion deeply rooted. I believe he’s not the only one.
If you ever met , you know that he is a man with style. It feels effortless. However, despite seeing him in barber uniform, I saw him in all kinds of outfits, you cannot just say that Fabio is THIS or THAT. He has this incredible ability to look great in anything and own it 100%. One thing that doesn’t change is the kind of haircut he gets. It’s from the same place.
Which proves my point that classic cuts are for everyone as long as it’s done well.

“It’s a double rainbow! What does this mean...?”

Remember the “double rainbow” guy on YouTube? The one extremely excited about this nature’s phenomenon. Didn’t understand the excitement until I saw one right outside the window. It’s spectacular, camera cannot record these things, it’s a feeling.
There has been so many signs over the last couple of months that now as we lost a very close family member couple of days ago, I started to really think that the world is always trying to tell us something. It’s too many coincidences.
I’ve learned that nothing is in our hands, that we can hope for the best, but you cannot rewrite the plan that is given to you. I’ve learned that the purpose of life is not to plan for the future, but to master the ability to live in the moment and enjoy everything that is given to you now. There’s no “later”, there’s no “right moment”, there’s no “future you”. It’s ok to dream about things, but sometimes we get lost in it so much that we forget to live NOW.
Because “now” might be all that we have.

Product photography hasn’t been on my agenda so much, but I can say that last year I got to do a bit of everything. It’s exciting to try something else, especially when it’s something done by my dear friends at . It’s such a great team to work with and being among people who love their job is nothing but a fresh breath of air. They just launched their perfume line and it’s amazing. Love the candles, especially the one of Brown Coffee over Patchouli... They say we remember things by smells and so this one reminds me of Christmas in Portugal and the poppyseed cake we had that day with coffee. That smell is a memory now.

It has been a while since I took any pictures at , but I must say: I miss it. I guess I miss the good old days when planning things were so easy, when going around Lisbon was no big deal and sometimes with sole reason just to explore. Now with number of cases rising and a close family member in hospital fighting for life - we kind of measure every step. It sucks to keep talking about the same thing and I do wait for the day when today’s world would stay as a memory and we’d move on.
If not for the hope, humanity wouldn’t survive. I like to stay positive and excited entering 2021, but for now: let’s stay calm, let’s not touch anything(!!!) and then see how it goes. 😁
