a life of tides
There is a place we return to without thinking, not out of habit but because something in us has always belonged to that shifting edge between land and sea, where the tide sets the rhythm, advancing and retreating with a quiet certainty that mirrors the way life moves through us; and when we step into the water, even if only for a moment, the noise recedes and the weight we carry begins to loosen, until what remains is a subtle recognition that beneath everything we’ve built and become, we are still part of this endless motion, drawn back time and again to the one place where nothing needs to be forced and everything simply flows

Azul de Ventozelo Branco, um vinho fresco, vibrante e cheio de carácter Duriense. Com aromas cítricos e florais e uma acidez elegante que pede peixe, saladas e momentos leves à mesa.

For centuries, those who have lived along the Croatian coast have gazed at the horizon, trusting the sea as both path and promise.
Boats have become more than vessels, they are bridges between the islands and the mainland, between solitude and encounter, and the Adriatic itself has become memory, sustenance, and connection.
Immersing oneself in these waters is as vital as sailing them: each dive renews the bond with the sea, each swim is a return to the origin.

Dubrovnik carries a quiet paradox, a city of timeless beauty shaped by centuries of history yet slowly transformed by the footsteps of countless visitors. There is a tension here, the city as a living stage, sacred in its stillness, and the crowd that moves through it, restless and unmoored. In the shadowed alleys, silence lingers like a memory; in the sunlit squares, life pulses, vibrant and unstoppable. Every corner, every view over the Adriatic, reveals a city both fragile and resilient, steeped in history yet ever alive.
But little by little, change is coming. Dubrovnik is learning to adapt to the pressures of mass tourism improving the ‘flow’ of visitors through the city, and perhaps we too must learn to travel differently, slowly, with care, curiosity, and respect for the locals and the places we love.

The slow pace of life
Cats settle serenely on sun-warmed stone walls as boats drift quietly in the still marina. People stroll slowly home, cradling warm bread wrapped in paper; women pause to smooth their dresses, readying themselves for Sunday mass, while the first swimmers slip gracefully through the shimmering silver water. Each movement unfolds softly, carried by the gentle, unhurried rhythm of a Sunday morning on the island.

Sometimes it’s the weight of light that makes a place unforgettable. After the liquid stillness of Plitvice Lakes, Split emerges in contrast, sun and shadow in constant dialogue. The old town holds this tension in every corner. Alleys open into sunlit squares, silence gives way to voices echo against walls that have seen centuries pass. There’s a gravity here, shaped by faith, felt in the chapels tucked behind heavy doors, in the quiet that settles as you pass. The city lives in contradiction, between brightness and shade, devotion and distraction, past and present. And it’s in those in-between spaces that something lingers.
