Artwork for the Headbangers Twins' August fanzine, inspired by old-school thrash metal, Dark Souls, and medieval fantasy.
One of the most labor-intensive and impactful pieces I’ve created so far.

TWIN UNDEAD HORSEMAN 🐎🪓💀

Artwork created for the August edition of Headbangers Twins, designed to evoke a raw, old-school Thrash Metal vibe while leaning into a more epic, medieval aesthetic.

I hadn't really explored the theme of horses and knights before, so I decided to create my own take on that universe. I’ve been playing a lot of *Dark Souls*, and a recent boss fight gave me the push I needed for this concept.

There is also an influence from the vintage illustrations found in *Fighting Fantasy* books, which have always shaped my taste for darker fantasy.

Regarding the color palette, I wanted to step outside my usual style and experiment with drier, distinct tones. It turned out to be one of the most striking pieces I’ve created and likely the one that took the most time to complete so far.

FALSE SUN, MELTED TRUTH 🌒☀️

'Under a false sun,
The shape of truth begins to fade.
We follow voices through the void,
Until our bodies lose their names.'

Painted this almost a month ago with no sketch. After nearly 14 years without painting on paper or canvas, I wanted to test my hand painting skills again and start creating more personal work outside my usual digital projects, with a bit more meaning behind it.

UMA NOITE DE PURO SACRILÉGIO II 💀🩸✝️

Artwork e cartaz que desenvolvi para o segundo evento da Uma Noite de Puro Sacrilégio, de regresso ao RCA Club para mais uma noite dedicada ao metal extremo nacional.

Os Vizir, das Caldas da Rainha, trazem a sua mistura de Black/Death Metal e Grindcore, com toda a irreverência e provocação que já fazem parte da identidade da banda.

De Portalegre chegam os Azzaya, banda de Black Metal formada em 2021, com uma identidade marcada por temas satânicos e uma abordagem directa, sombria e agressiva ao género.

A completar o cartaz estão os Toranos, banda emergente de Lisboa com uma abordagem de Melodic Black/Death Metal.

Concept artwork para a Uma Noite de Puro Sacrilégio II, inspirado em Terrifier 3, horror natalício, gore e metal extremo.

Como o concerto acontece no arranque da época de Natal, a ideia foi simples: crucificar o Pai Natal e mandar um F*CK YOU ao espírito natalício.

Concept artwork criado para o cartaz 'Uma Noite de Puro Sacrilégio II.'

Desta vez adaptei o ambiente e temática natalícia de terror de Terrifier 3 e no Art the Clown, uma personagem que adoro, e puxei tudo para um lado mais sujo, provocador e sacrílego.

Como o concerto acontece já no inicio da campanha de Natal, achei que fazia sentido levar isso ao extremo, crucificar o Pai Natal e juntar aquele toque de gore.

A imagem também foi muito influenciada pelos Vizir banda de Grind, black metal e por toda essa estética mais grotesca. Numa primeira versão cheguei a pôr o Art vestido de Pai Natal, mas estava demasiado natalício, por isso mantive o visual clássico dele.

Como referências tive Morbid Visions dos Sepultura, Once Upon the Cross dos Deicide, Silent Night, outros clássicos de terror natalício, cinema de horror e várias imagens fora do metal também.
