Season two starts next week. You pick the brief.

Thirty days of identity and brand strategy behind us. Now I want the next thirty to be problems you actually want solved.

Drop a brief in the comments. A sector, a category, a constraint, a rebrand nobody has cracked. The most interesting ones get designed and posted with your name on the credit.

Go.

A brand is felt before it is read.

Blur everything. If people still recognise you from a colour and a shape, you built a brand. If they need to read the name, you built a label.

Everyone has the same tools now, so nobody has the same taste. The gap between average and exceptional is the person doing the briefing.

Which brand can you recognise blurred, from across a room?

Three opinions that get me argued with.

One. Moodboards are where original ideas go to die. Reference is fuel, not destination. If your board is forty images of other people's work, you are curating, not creating.

Two. If everyone likes your design, it is probably forgettable. Consensus sands off every edge worth noticing.

Three. The tools were never the talent. Photoshop did not make designers, and AI will not unmake them.

Which one do you disagree with? Comment the number.

Last call on the prompt pack.

The full concept-frame system: how I lock a palette across a whole series, the single-accent rule that keeps thirty images looking like one brand, scale anchors, and the camera language that makes a render read as a photograph.

Comment WORLDS and it lands in your DMs.

After this I am closing it and moving on to season two.

Sketch to render used to take a studio a week. Now it takes an afternoon.

The sketch still matters most. The idea is the asset, the render is just proof.

Generate your references instead of borrowing them, and you get fifty directions from one brief before the coffee goes cold.

Then comes the hard part, slide 3: consistency. One-off pretty pictures are easy. A world that holds together across every frame is craft.

Where does AI actually save you time, and where does it quietly cost you?

A brand guideline nobody opens is a very expensive PDF.

The test of a system is not how thick the document is. It is whether a junior designer in another country, at 2am, with no access to you, can make something that still looks like you.

If the answer is no, you did not build a system. You built a portfolio piece.

What is the one page every guideline should have and usually does not?

Scale is the cheapest drama in design.

Make it huge and the viewer feels small. Make it tiny and they lean in. Either way they feel something, and that was the job.

Emptiness works the same way. Filling every corner says please look at me. White space says you already are.

When did scale last stop you mid-scroll?

The first line is always ugly.

Every concept you have ever admired started as a bad stroke on a screen at midnight. The polished version is just that stroke, defended long enough.

If you are waiting to feel ready before you start, you will keep waiting. Start ugly, then edit like a professional.

Save this for the next time a blank canvas beats you.

Same object. Same camera. Different light. Different story.

Soft frontal light says safe. Hard side light says drama. Light is not technical, it is emotional direction.

Material does the same job: matte whispers craft, gloss shouts new. Change the finish and you change what people think it costs, without touching the product itself.

Light or material, which do you reach for first?

Design for the phone in every hand.

Unpopular with purists, but every brand now has a second brief nobody writes down: it has to survive being photographed badly, at night, at an angle, by someone who is not a photographer, and still be recognisable.

That is not selling out. That is understanding how your work travels after you hand it over.

Is designing for the camera good practice or a compromise? Tell me where you stand.
