[ Low 📧 Open and 👉🖱? ] 🤔🤔🤔

Recently Aweber/Getresponse server got hit where most of our email messages go directly to spam. 😱

So what it does is that your Open and Click-Through rate will see a sudden drop... (since early September if I'm not wrong)

So what you can do to remedy the situation?

Immediate Solution:

👉Change sender's email account.

How?

Change your sender email address account under your autoresponders account settings...

Purpose:

You can actually change your sender email to refresh your sender's IP so that Email Service Provider will think that it's a new sender account because of the change of email account.

Eg: [email protected] > [email protected]

Make sure that you set up an actual email account in your hosting account before changing it at your autoresponder account.

Does it work?

It does help, however, it depends on your domain's reputation as well. More info check mxtoolbox.com to check your domain reputation (your past sending history will determine if changing your sender account could impact your Open and Click)

Common Question:
If my domain reputation is bad, can I change my sender email's domain as well?

Like: [email protected] >[email protected]?

You may...

However, that's not a best practice and you might risk getting your account shut down because according to email best practice your domain email has to match your actual domain (where you collect subscribers)

So...

What other solution do you have?

Long term solution:

1. Refresh your email creative.

Don't send recycled content, think about it.
Most affiliates are thinking alike, I would say even myself are tempted to just copy and paste templated emails and just 'blast' it to your subscribers...

Hey, ESP is tracking your activities too.

Most likely 99% of other affiliates already did what you do and ESP has a record of mass blasting email content, therefore, your email deliverability is going to be very low.

if possible change/modifies the swipe you send to your subscriber so that you maintain good server reputation(depending on what your content contain also). That increases the chance of your email hitting your subscriber's inbox. (ESP track your content also)

And before sending your broadcast email, do a test by sending it to https://glockapps.com/spam-testing/ for a check and see how likely your email is going into spam. And change accordingly.

2) Solicite Response

Get your subscribers to reply to your email. The more activities going on between you and your subscriber is a positive sign that boosts your server's reputation.

Simple 1 liner like:

Let me know what you think...
If you like what you read, let me know...
Type 'Yes' if you agree...

3) Switch Autoresponder (if no choice)

Sometimes, low Open and Click-Through rate is not your fault. That's because a lot of time we are using shared server among other users in the same umbrella. If unfortunately there's a bad apple within your shared server then voila.

You could consider switching your email autoresponder account to another company.

Of course please do your due diligence before doing the switch as different company has different policies. To register a new account and do a broadcast test with your new account to see if it's worth doing the shift. (It's alot of work btw)

Tips for testing: Import your active leads and do the test because a lot of time they have restriction/limits on how many subscribers can you port over to test drive. And you want to use your active leads to perform test so that you get a more accurate picture to compare with your current ESP if it's worth switching and new ESP will evaluate if you're a worthy customer based on your data too.
