NFT Market Surges with Ethereum Leading the Way, Reaching $99 Million in Sales
The NFT market saw a robust 24.33% increase in sales from August 17 to 24, 2024, reaching a total of $99.05 million. Ethereum-based NFTs led the surge, generating $36.62 million. This growth was accompanied by a sharp rise in both buyers (up 42.96%) and sellers (up 41.53%), highlighting renewed interest in digital collectibles.
Solana followed closely behind Ethereum, recording $18.43 million in sales—a 14.4% increase. Polygon claimed third place with $12.52 million, while Bitcoin NFTs brought in $12.14 million. Mythos rounded out the top five blockchains with over $5 million in sales.
Among collections, Ethereum’s Cryptopunks led with $7.65 million in sales, followed by Mythos’ Dmarket at $4.99 million and Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) at $3.59 million. The most expensive NFT sold this week was Arbitrum’s GETH Locked Deposit at $256,000, followed by Ethereum’s Zoth Nibiru for $250,000.
The surge in activity and the broadening of top blockchains suggest growing diversity in the NFT market. While Ethereum remains dominant, other blockchains like Solana and Bitcoin are gaining traction. The more moderate prices of top NFTs this week hint at cautious optimism among investors, reflecting a healthy but measured market rebound.
