BREAKING: Water Supply to Parts of Freetown Temporarily Shut Down Tonight - Guma Announces

The Guma Valley Water Company has announced a temporary shutdown of water supply across parts of Freetown today, 6 March 2026, to allow urgent repairs on major transmission pipelines.

According to a public notice issued by the utility company, water supply will be suspended from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (8 hours) while engineers carry out critical maintenance work.

The repairs include:
• Fixing a burst 28-inch transmission pipeline at Pogodon, Hamilton
• Replacing a faulty washout valve on the 22-inch pipeline at Pogodon
• Replacing another faulty washout valve on the 28-inch pipeline at Mambo

🚨🚨🚨 37 years old teacher Emmanuel, hanged himself in his room at Assin Fosu

The deceased has been identified as Emmanuel Kofi Quainoo, 37. Sources at the school said he had been absent from work for some time and only resumed duties on March 3, 2026.

According to colleagues, he left the school premises around midday after the second break, informing staff that he was unwell and needed to go home to seek medical attention.

Later in the day, reports emerged that he had allegedly hanged himself in his room at Assin Fosu. His two daughters, aged eight and seven, are said to have discovered him when they returned home from school and subsequently raised an alarm.

Preliminary information suggests that Mr Quainoo allegedly used a skipping rope tied to a crossbar to take his own life.

The Department of War announced the dêath of four Army Reserve Soldiers who were supporting Operation Epic Fury.

Capt. Cody A. Khork, 35,
Sgt. 1st Class Noah L. Tietjens, 42
Sgt. 1st Class Nicole M. Amor, 39
Sgt. Declan J. Coady, 20

They dïed on March 1, 2026 in Port Shuaiba, Kuwait, during an unmanned aircraft system attack. All Soldiers were assigned to the 103rd Sustainment Command.

May their souls rest in peace 💔😥
